Get inspired by Drishti’s gorgeous makeover into a trendy Telugu bride with WeddingSutra Favorites.

WeddingSutra, in collaboration with Lakme Absolute and Kalyan Jewellers, brings to you ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ – a curated showcase of top bridal trends and style statements from some of our WeddingSutra Favorites.

The latest edition of this bridal initiative held at the Trident, Bandra-Kurla, Mumbai explores the weaves of South Indian brides along with beautiful diamond jewellery crafted for the millennial bride. In the second of this three-part series, bride-to-be Drishti was treated to a gorgeous bridal makeover that involved designer fashion, standout jewellery, and distinctive makeup.

Drishti’s bridal makeover session began by putting together the perfect Telugu bridal look with precious jewels from Kalyan JewellersMuhurat Wedding Collection. Stylist Shikha Dhandhia picked a beautiful saree for the bride-to-be from Nalli sarees. Dhrishti’s gorgeous hairdo and flawless makeup with Lakme Absolute products were thanks to BrideMeUp by Chanderlata. The bride-to-be looked stunning in her traditional avatar, and these memorable moments of the makeover were beautifully captured by the talented team of Navin Varma Photography.

WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative, ‘WeddingSutra On Location,’ was held at The Trident, Bandra-Kurla, for one of the most loved jewellery brands catering to millennial brides. In the second of this three-part series, bride-to-be Drishti was treated to a gorgeous bridal makeover that involved designer fashion, standout jewellery, and distinctive makeup.

A dazzle of Diamonds with Kalyan Jewellers
Drishti, our Telugu bride, took the unconventional path and chose an elegant diamond set from the Kalyan Jewellers’ Muhurat Wedding Collection, over glittering gold to pair with her green saree. The selected pieces with emeralds and diamond studs added a dash of color to her look. Keeping with the popular bridal trend, Drishti layered her diamond necklace with a similar piece in a different size. Both neckpieces are designed with a special feature of interchangeable center stones on the pendants which makes it easy to switch from emeralds to sapphires or rubies in a jiffy to match different looks and ensembles. This #KalyanMuhuratBride completed her look with emerald and ruby bangles, a diamond ‘oddiyanam’ (waist belt) and a matching ‘maang tikka’ (forehead ornament).

At every Telugu wedding, the focus is always on the bride’s outfit and jewellery. Shikha picked a beautiful royal green silk creation from Nalli Sarees. The saree featured zari butta threadwork on the borders and delicate zari embroidery all over. She teamed it with a beige blouse to tone down the look. Her outfit was in sync with her matching green emerald and diamond jewellery.

For her face, makeup artist Chanderlata of BrideMeUp by Chanderlata gave her a modern look with a striking pout and a smokey eye effect on her lids. She kept her base matte and shine-free, which is best suited for oily skin tones. She transformed Dhrishti’s gorgeous locks into a beautiful bridal hairdo. Keeping her center-parted for the maang tikka with a few loose strands, the dreamy curly on the side gave it a natural look with a few springs of baby’s breath blooms.

Drishti shares, “My experience with the entire shoot was fabulous. Chanderlata did a fantastic job. Usually, my makeup tends to oxidise and turns grey after application, but she did my base very well. My face tends to look a little plump in pictures but she gave me a nice, chiselled look by contouring my face. I loved the green saree on me which looked fabulous in the photos. The jewellery matched my entire look so beautifully that I plan on visiting the store again to purchase a few pieces for my wedding.“

Drishti’s look
To prep Dhrishti’s skin, Chanderlata applied the Lakme Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer to create a flawless base and make her makeup last longer. Next, she used the Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation Compact that works as both a foundation and setting powder, giving her face a perfect matte finish. The Lakme 9 to 5 Pure Rouge Blusher in Peach Affair added a natural flush to the cheeks. For her eyes, she went with a brown smokey hue with Lakme Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in Nude Beach and topped it up with Lakme Absolute Shine Line Eyeliner in Sparkling Olive that added contrast and shine to her eyes. She added drama to her lashes with oodles of Lakme Eyeconic Curling Mascara in Black. Her brows were on fleek with the Lakme Absolute Precision Eye Artist Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown, and Lakme Absolute Matte Revolution Lip Color in Obsessive Orange gave her a perfect striking pout. To complete Dhrishti’s bridal look, she put a round, green bindi on her forehead that matched her outfit.
