As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Anita Dongre’s Bridal Studio in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo shoot, each participant got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here in the third of the four-part series, bride-to-be Ena Vijay writes about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Anita Dongre’s Bridal Studio.
“I stumbled upon WeddingSutra thanks to a friend and since then I have been visiting the site regularly, now in fact I visit the blog every day. One morning, I read about ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ and was quite impressed after reading about the experiences of other brides-to-be. So I immediately wrote in to them, and I was delighted when I received an invite for their upcoming ‘pre-wedding’ bridal experience at Anita Dongre’s store in Phoenix Mills.
You can call me a geeky & simple Finance professional not well updated with the latest fashion trends and designs, so to be true, I entered Anita Dongre’s store feeling a little nervous and anxious. But once I was there, the WeddingSutra team, and the experts they had invited pampered me and created a very warm and comfortable atmosphere.
I was first introduced to Wedding Planner Candice Pereira, who helped me with my outfit selection. Since my wedding is in Jaipur, I wanted the outfit to be in a bright color. Candice was extremely helpful in suggesting what type of styles would suit me from Anita’s collection, and was very patient as I tried at least four outfits before making my final decision! I eventually chose an orange georgette butti lehenga with gota patti embroidery, which was paired with a gold raw silk choli and a net orange dupatta.
Next, it was time to get my makeup & hair done with Makeup Artist Recinda Martis. After seeing the outfit that I chose, she suggested highlighting my eyes, and giving me a tied hairstyle. I loved the smoky eye make-up she did, I did not remove it even after leaving the store! For my hair, she braided it quite differently for a contemporary yet traditional look.
Finally it was time for the photo-shoot with Wedding Photographer Dev Purbiya. With his friendly nature, he made a camera shy person like me feel really comfortable, and the shoot actually turned out to be a fun experience. He also provided me with some valuable tips on how to strike the right pose. Overall, I had a wonderful pampering session prior to my big day, all thanks to WeddingSutra and the experts!”
