WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative, WeddingSutra On Location, was held at Azva, Taj Santacruz, the home of bespoke gold jewellery. In the third of this three-part series, Gangaur Sharma imagines herself on her big day and epitomizes a picture of beauty and youthful grace.
Gangaur wore an ivory creation by Mrunalini Rao handpicked by WeddingSutra experts from Mumbai’s multi-designer bridal store Aza Fashions, and paired it with handcrafted gold jewellery from Azva. The pieces of jewellery were essential to add that bridal opulence to her look, and the items selected matched her lehenga perfectly. Products by Lakmé Absolute made for makeup artist Kumar Iyer’s arsenal for the day. While he ensured that he added glamour to her look, hairstylist Laksh Singh gave Gangaur a dreamy vibe with his impeccable styling. The Photo Lab captured all the special moments of Gangaur’s fun and fabulous makeover, and Harsh Parmar created a beautiful video that would later allow the bride-to-be to revisit her day with WeddingSutra On Location whenever her heart desired.
Steering away from the fail-safe bridal color palette of rich red and gold, Gangaur Sharma picked a lehenga by Mrunalini Rao that had striking floral motifs in different colors on a neutral fabric. The light shade added freshness to the bright floral motifs that covered the ensemble, and a baby pink dupatta added a cheery accent to the ensemble. “The stunning lehenga I picked is perfect for a summer wedding, and its floral motifs made the ensemble look very refreshing,” said Gangaur.
She selected a choker set from Azva that encased Polki diamonds on a lattice of intricate filigree craftwork that was inspired by the seven wedding vows. Gangaur also picked matching bangles and rings to complement the choker set and her outfit. “The jewellery from Azva was breathtaking as the designs fused traditional and contemporary aesthetics which gave the pieces a very classy look,” she explained.
Kumar Iyer worked his makeup magic to give Gangaur a youthful look that is perfect for a summer bride. Her lips and eyes were were played up while her skin was given a lustrous glow. Laksh Singh let Gangaur’s long tresses stand out by styling them in voluminous waves and letting a section fall to a side. The delighted bride shared, “My hair and makeup were in sync with the outfit. Fresh – is the word to describe my overall look!”
Encapsulating all the memories of her makeover, Gangaur said, “Being a part of WeddingSutra On Location was an amazing experience. It was a day filled with thrill and excitement and unlike anything that I had done before. The photographers made the entire shoot feel so effortless even for someone who is an amateur at posing for a camera. Thanks to the WeddingSutra team for giving me this opportunity and making everything so easy and comfortable.”
Gangaur Sharma’s Look
To prep Gangauri’s skin, Kumar Iyer began with Lakme Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer and then applied Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation in Ivory Glow. Using the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact, he set the foundation and created a smooth base for him to work on. He lined her eyelids using the Lakmé Absolute Forever Silk Eyeliner in Blacklast and used Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara to darken her eyes. A soft rosy glow was added to Gangaur’s cheeks with the help of the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick, and Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Lip Color – Ruby Velvet was used for the final finish.
