WeddingSutra, in collaboration with Lakmé Absolute and Kalyan Jewellers, brings to you ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ – a curated showcase of top bridal trends and style statements from some of our WeddingSutra Favorites.

In the third and last of this three-part series, soon-to-wed Hanna Khan transformed into a Nizaami bride as she exuded the polished essence of the culture in a dazzling outfit, stunning makeup, and exquisite jewellery. The shoot took place at The Club Mumbai, a luxurious private club with exclusive membership in the heart of suburban Mumbai.

Hanna wore extravagant polki jewellery from Kalyan Jewellers, a leading name in wedding ornaments with a 109-year old legacy of crafting impeccable and precious pieces that every bride cherishes for a lifetime. Her jewellery teamed perfectly with the sublime blush lehenga by Aarti Mahtani, which was styled on Hanna by stylist Shikha Dhandhia. To complete her look, makeup artist Richa Thakkar brushed on a demure, blushing visage created with products from the Lakmé Absolute range of cosmetics. Namit and Vipul of Knotty Affair by Namit & Vipul were behind the lens, turning every significant moment of this makeover into a tangible memory.

A bride’s wedding jewellery is the focal point of her look, and in order to make Hanna’s ensemble memorable, Kalyan Jewellers extended the most exquisite pieces of polki jewellery from their Muhurat Wedding Collection. A mélange of the best of traditional and contemporary bridal designs curated from around the country, the collection is ideal for every bride’s trousseau.

Hanna wore a delightful, layered Satlada with gloriously strung pearls and golden beads creating an illusion of an elaborate and classic collectable piece. The statement Jhoomar Paasa, another striking aspect of a Nizaami bride’s wedding day look, included emerald green beads, rubies, and tiny pearls. Paired with an equally striking maang tikka, the effect was nothing short of stunning.

To match the colour scheme of the paasa, the bride opted for a polki haar with similar shades of green and red, adding a splash of contrasting color to the dusty pink attire.

polki ring and kada completed the look. Talking about her favourite piece, Hanna shared, “I was in love with the regal Satlada necklace the minute I saw it, and I felt like a princess wearing it. It was very well designed and carefully crafted. I also loved the exquisite Jhoomar Passa and was impressed by how it effortlessly added to my bridal look’s ethnic appeal.”

The blush Aarti Mahtani lehenga that stylist Shikha Dhandhia chose for Hanna featured intricate embellishments of pearls and sequins over a soft, flowy fabric that looked feminine and romantic. Intricate embroidery added to the richness of the regal ensemble that evoked a vision of Mughal opulence. Hanna added, “The lehenga that was chosen for me was very unique and stood out effortlessly. It blended with my jewellery seamlessly and made me look and feel like a princess.”

To complement her ensemble, Richa Thakkar turned Hanna into the quintessential blushing bride with rosebud lips and flushed cheeks. She created a spectacular halo effect with the scintillating rose gold eye look with the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in Nude Beach. The limited-edition illuminate palette designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee contains six power-packed shades for a lustrous finish that suits every skin tone. Hanna recalled, “The reflective, pigmented colors made for a super glamorous look, and the rose gold-tone was perfect for the soft and romantic feel of my bridal makeover.” The team of Knotty Affair by Namit & Vipul captured beautiful portraits of the Hanna as she posed like a royal princess.

Hanna’s Look
Richa gave Hanna a flushed visage with statement eyes and blushing cheeks. She began by applying the Lakmé Absolute Blur Perfect Primer to ensure smooth and long-lasting effects and layered it with the Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation Cream to create a flawless base. She then set in the products with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact. For her eyes, she used nude and pink shades as well as the metallic tones from the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in Nude Beach to create a striking, shimmering effect before lining them with the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate in Black. To add a pop of color to Hanna’s cheeks, she used the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Pink Blush that tied the look together with her eyeshadow. The look was completed with Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Color in Royal Rust.
