Heta Gandhi, The Westin Mumbai Garden City
With some WeddingSutra Favorites playing fairy godmother, Heta was transformed into a gorgeous bride ready to walk down the aisle.
WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative WeddingSutra On Location was held at the very modern The Westin Mumbai Garden City. In the second of this three-part series, bride-to-be Heta Gandhi gets into her element and puts together a look that introduces her as a contemporary bride with an eye for design.
It all began with one look at a statement necklace by Azva and in that instant, Heta knew exactly what her look would be. Inspired by the jewellery, she picked a lehenga by SVA by Sonam & Paras Modi, its gold embellishments resonating with the ornaments.
Makeup Artist Minee Khanna created an elegant visage with products by Lakmé Absolute. Then, hairstylist Disha Pamnani stayed true to the easy feel of the ensemble and styled Heta’s hair in loose curls. Knotty Affair by Namit and Vipul were a dream team when it came to capturing all the special moments of the day and preserved every emotion in beautiful frames.
Heta managed to find the sartorial sweet spot that celebrates vibrant, ethnic color that goes beyond traditional silhouettes. Her bright orange SVA By Sonam & Paras Modi lehenga has a strong design story; gold thread cuts away the monotony from the monotone outfit and while the lehenga is full of Indian flavor, the blouse exudes a modern vibe. Heta said, “I’ve always wanted to wear a fusion lehenga and I got exactly what I wished for. The heavily embroidered skirt paired with a sleeveless blouse was perfect and I could not have been happier about my attire.”
Heta wore that same eye-catching 22- karat gold choker from Azva featuring gold ghungroos, unique texture in each row and a floral medallion sat in the center complete with ruby petals. This covetable piece was paired with earrings in sync with the aesthetics of the necklace, an exquisite bangle and a statement ring.
Excited about Minee Khanna’s work Heta said, “Not only was she extremely sweet but what a fabulous job! I’m a bare-basics sort of girl but Minee gave me a look that was appropriate for the shoot and also something I was comfortable pulling off. The way she managed this was truly commendable!” About her hair, Heta said, “Disha Pamnani and her team were also very cooperative. They took into consideration our choices and preferences and the hairstyle she created for me suited my facial structure and it couldn’t have been better. They were very friendly and wonderful to work with.”
WeddingSutra noticed how easily Heta settled into the shoot and had to ask if she’d ever been shot before. She hadn’t! And the credit went to, “Knotty Affair by Namit and Vipul. They were energetic and creative and really knew what they were doing. It instantly made me more confident in their ability and put me at ease. The pictures they took made me feel like a celebrity and they truly brought out the best in me.”
It’s been a dream to be part of the WeddingSutraOnLocation shoot, Heta admits and she was thrilled to have this dream come true, “My friend was part of WeddingSutra On Location and was all praises about the experience. When I visited your website to look for lehenga trends, the channel really caught my eye. I wrote in and when I received a confirmation from the team saying I had been selected I could hardly believe my eyes because this is ‘The WeddingSutra” that we’re talking about. I feel super blessed. No matter how hard I try I cannot explain in words what an amazing day it was!”

Minee Khanna started off by using Lakmé Absolute Skin Natural Mousse – Hydrating in Ivory Cream to create an even skin tone. She then used Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact to set the foundation and moved on to her eyes. She lined her eyes with the Lakmé Absolute Forever Silk Eyeliner in Blacklast and intensified them further with the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara. A healthy glow was courtesy the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick and Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Lip Color in Caramel Custard was used to for the final touch.
