Jinal Niser – JADE

As part of our initiative WeddingSutra On Location, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at designer duo’s Monica & Karishma’s exclusive JADE Couture Studio in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and culminating in a professional Photo Shoot, each bride-to-be got an opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.

Here, in the second of the four-part series, bride-to-be Jinal Niser shares her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at the JADE Studio.

“I love to pose and be photographed and do all sorts of fun things! Much before I was engaged, I used to love going to stores to try out lehengas just to feel pretty! On a trip to Turkey, I even tried on a white wedding gown! It’s true, Wedding, Women & Window Shopping all go well together!

I was introduced to WeddingSutra, by my friend wedding-planner Radhika Kochar of Svaha Events! Little did I know she’d organize such an incredibly sweet experience for me. I couldn’t help but say, ‘Hell yeah! Breathe!’

On the day, I walked in at 9 am and was welcomed by Team WeddingSutra. I was excited and nervous but my exuberance levels were through the roof when I found out the clothes were by Jade Couture. I walked around looking at the elaborate options, tried on 5 different outfits and finally fell in love with a serena blue and off-white lehenga. From their collection ‘The Tribal Princess’, it wasn’t your stereotypical outfit, silk organza, metallic embroidery and tribal motifs, quite different from the typical. It fit perfectly and felt like it was meant for me.

After picking my dream outfit it was time to be handed over to the magician Ojas. I’ve always been a no-make-up person. In fact, I only just learned a few tips from a friend but after meeting Ojas and talking to her I was ready to let her do what she does best. I did it all, fake eyelashes, hair extensions, the works! Once the transformation was complete I couldn’t stop smiling at my reflection (and I took A LOT of selfies!) It’s incredible to see what a talented make-up artist can do! Thank you Ojas and team.

Shreya, the one behind the lens was super sweet and kept telling me ‘don’t smile’. I suspect this was a first for her, telling someone to stop smiling for the camera! She made me very comfortable and then all I had to do was fake some nakhras while she kept clicking. She tapped into my enthusiasm and we had so much fun taking all the twirling shots. As I said before, I love getting photographed and so this was my favourite part!

Last but not the least; a big thank you to the entire WeddingSutra team for this day! I had so much fun and it was a great trial run for me! Waiting for my D day now. Cheers to new beginnings!”

Jinal’s Look

To complement Jinal’s choice of outfit, Ojas decided to give her a dramatic evening look. She began by creating a base with Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Foundation in Golden Medium on her face and set the base with the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Compact in Golden Medium. Ojas decided to enhance her beautiful eyes with shades of blue which to complement her contemporary lehenga. She applied the Lakmé Absolute Color Illusion Pearl Shadow in Smokey Pearl all over her eyelid and lined her eyes with the Lakmé Absolute Forever Silk Eyeliner in Electric Violet. To add the oomph factor, Ojas smudged the corner of her eyes with the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate for a smokey look. She then added a few coats of the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara to her lashes. She used the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Peach Blush onto her cheeks. Ojas kept her lips muted with the Peach out shade of Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi Definition Matte Lipstick. Finally Jinal’s hair was styled with side-swept bangs and soft curls.
