Khushboo Gala – Manish Malhotra
Discover her transformation at WeddingSutra on Location held at Manish Malhotra's couture store in Khar, Mumbai
As part of our initiative WeddingSutra on Location, we invited three brides-to-be for a unique experience at Manish Malhotra’s couture store in Khar, Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got an opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here, in the second of the three-part series, bride-to-be Khushboo Gala blogs about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Manish Malhotra.
“WeddingSutra on Location is an experience like no other and so many brides-to-want to be on Location and I too was hoping I would get the opportunity. When I got a call from WeddingSutra informing me that I was selected for the next one, I was thrilled. But I was on cloud nine when I found out that it is happening at Manish Malhotra’s Store! And I couldn’t wait to see myself as a Manish Malhotra bride!
The day arrived, and after the initial round of introductions with team WeddingSutra and the experts, I was shown the ace couturier’s latest bridal collection. There were so many beautiful outfits, all of which I loved, in fact I was quite confused. But thankfully there was an able team to help me! I decided to try a gorgeous sangeet outfit, a lime green georgette lehenga with Kashmiri tilla highlighted work. It had a nice mix of gold and silver work, and the full sequin blouse and heavily embroidered lime green dupatta brought out its charm. And once I tried it on, I was sure this was the one!
Next up was the make-up session with renowned makeup artist Kumar Iyer. When you are in such experienced hands, all your apprehensions disappear! I left everything up to him, and he gave me an out-and-out glamorous look with glittery eyes and dark lips. He then left my hair on one side, adding so much more grace to my overall look! Jewellery by AZVA completed the look and now I ‘felt’ like a bride I always wanted to be.
Next was photo shoot time with candid photographer Shreya Sen. Being someone who is a little camera shy, I had my doubts on how well I could pose. But Shreya put me at ease, I enjoyed the session and it was a perfect end to a memorable day. Thank you WeddingSutra for the wonderful experience and making me feel like a celebrity bride for the day!”
Khushboo has light and translucent skin and full lips. Kumar used the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Foundation in Golden Medium for the base which blended beautifully into her skin. He then emphasized her eyes with a touch of Lakmé Absolute Color Illusion Eye Shadow in Blue Pearl and finished with Lakmé Absolute Gel Addict Eyeliner in Black and Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate to give a smudged look. To complete the eye makeup, Kumar applied multiple coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara on Khushboo’s long lashes. He also brushed on a hint of Lakmé Absolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blusher in Day Blush on her cheeks. Kumar adds, “Her lips were the pièce de résistance”. He started with a coat of Lakmé Absolute Lip Tint in Wine Punch shade and topped them with Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict in Plum Perfect shade for a fabulous and full pout. Hair Stylist Laksh Singh blow dried her hair and after adding few extensions, he styled her hair in waves clipped to one side to add glamour.
