Discover her transformation at WeddingSutra on Location held at Ensemble in Bandra (West), Mumbai
As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Ensemble in Bandra (West), Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.
Here in the first of the four-part series, bride-to-be Kirti Nandwani blogs about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Ensemble.
“Modern Indian Wedding Inspiration is just one click away. WeddingSutra is ultimately the most resourceful Indian wedding website. I’ve browsed through all the sections which have been equally helpful but the one that caught my attention the most was ‘WeddingSutra on Location.’ The concept behind it is amazing- to gives brides-to-be an experience of what it is like being dolled up with belle attire, makeup and jewellery. Since I live in Hong Kong, I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss being part of the experience while I was in Mumbai for my shopping. So I was in touch with Anshu of WeddingSutra.com since April and when I got an invite I was thrilled that it all worked out.
Ensemble was the venue, very well located in Bandra. The store is spacious and carries a variety of bridal outfits of popular designers as well as their very own Ensemble line. Keeping in mind my petite figure, the team suggested a lehenga that wouldn’t drown me. It was a creation by Ensemble Design Studio, embroidered with floral motifs. Picking this red lehenga was the perfect choice, it fell onto me just right. The thread work was intricate, yet modern and lightweight.
To enhance the outfit, Ojas, ‘the queen of makeup’ did wonders. Magic is an understatement. Every stroke of the makeup brush was like painting a beautiful portrait. She passed along some friendly beauty tips and casual chats to make me feel comfortable. Her hairstyling was amazing too, making me feel like a bridal diva.
The final touch – Jewellery. We kept it delicate to complete the modern look. I skipped the necklace and only wore a medium size maang tikka and earrings by Azva. The look accentuated on the principle of ‘Less is more.’
I am no model but Ashwin and Jhalak of Shades Photography encouraged me to feel relaxed and be myself, and in a few minutes I was oblivious of my surrounding and was having a good time.
Every step of the way was a fun learning experience, from picking my outfit to being beautified to getting clicked. At some point of the makeover, looking at the mirror, I blushed and smiled. Am I dreaming? At the end, I couldn’t help but feel like a ‘showstopper’ and a bride at the same time. All in all, it was the best exposure to prepare myself for my very own wedding day. Kirti’s Look
Kirti is a simple, easy-going person, and Ojas wanted to bring out the very feminine, Bollywood Diva in her. She began with the Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse to create a dewy base on the face and eyelids. She then added on false eyelashes and curled the lashes. Ojas chose very soft tones of brown for Kirti’s eyes. She used the Lakmé Absolute Eye Cromatic Baked Shadows in Day Shimmer on the upper and lower eyelids, then added on a lot of glitter and deftly blended it in an outward, upward manner to create a winged look. She then applied coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Mascara Dramatic Eyes. For the lips, Kirti wore the Lakmé Absolute Crème lip colour in Red Carpet to complement her lehenga. Ojas used a lot of hair extensions to give volume and bounce to Kirti’s hair and finished the look with a beautiful jhumka-style maang tikka by Azva.
