WeddingSutra, in collaboration with Lakmé Absolute and Kalyan Jewellers , brings to you WeddingSutra on Location, which showcases the top bridal trends and style statements from WeddingSutra Favorites.
In the first of this three-part series, bride-to-be Maitri underwent a stunning transformation in preparation for her upcoming wedding. She shares her experience here. The shoot took place at The Club Mumbai, a luxurious private club with exclusive membership in the heart of suburban Mumbai.
Dazzling in an ensemble from Disha Patil, Maitri was styled by stylist Shikha Dhandhia with heavy polki ornaments by Kalyan Jewellers. The brand’s 109-year-old legacy of crafting fine jewelry, with a commitment to quality and impeccable designs, is bolstered by the trust that they have built amongst their loyal patrons. Each of their pieces draws inspiration from India’s rich past, their beauty irresistible to modern brides looking to add a traditional touch to their ensembles.
Maitri looked enchanting with makeup done by Richa Thakkar, who gave her an alluring bridal glow using products from the iconic Lakmé Absolute range of cosmetics. Precious moments from this special day were captured by Namit and Vipul of Knotty Affair. The day began with one of the most exciting parts of the bridal trousseau – the jewelry! Shikha styled this Sindhi bride with elaborate polki pieces from Kalyan Jewellers. Maitri looked resplendent in an emerald and polki choker, which she amped up with another necklace in the same style. With pearls, polkis, and beads, these necklaces beautifully complemented the matha patti chosen by the bride. Statement chaand baalis and a floral finger ring added glamour to her look. Maitri said, “I love to layer accessories. The double necklace styling and the royal matha patti made me feel like a queen.”
Shikha transformed Maitri into a traditional Sindhi bride with an embroidered and heavily-embellished off-white and silver lehenga by Disha Patil. Maitri says, “The outfit Shikha picked for me captured the opulence and regal aesthetics of a Sindhi bride. It also complimented the jewelry perfectly.”
To enhance the beauty of the ensemble, Richa Thakkar used the Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Colour in the shade – Chocolate Brownie, which gave the bride a gorgeous pout. With the nourishment of argan oil, it ensures smooth application and leaves the lips feeling supple all day. Its unique formula, with an intense matte finish and luxurious color gave Maitri the most perfect pout. Maitri says, “It is a highly-pigmented shade which makes it perfect to be photographed. The rich shade suits all skin tones. I loved the entire look that Richa gave me. She worked according to my features and was very accommodating and accepting of my inputs, which made me very comfortable.”
Richa gave Maitri a warm and natural look, with bold eyebrows, shimmering eyelids, and a rich chocolatey-nude pout to go with her elaborate statement jewelry. She began by applying some Lakmé Absolute Blur Perfect Primer to ensure a smooth canvas and makeup that would last all day. She followed this with Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation Cream to create a flawless base. She then set the products by using Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact. Next, she moved to the eyes and created a shimmering bronze-gold look with a brown tone base with Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in French Rose, before lining them using Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate in Black. She amped up the glamor of her naturally bold brows with Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Artist Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown. The look was completed with Lakmé Absolute Matte Ultimate Lip Color in Chocolate Brownie.
