Mansha Mahtani – Mayyur Girotra

Discover her transformation at WeddingSutra on Location

As part of our initiative ‘WeddingSutra on Location’, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at Mayyur Girotra’s new store in Khar (West), Mumbai. Starting with a Style Consultation, a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.

Here in the second of the four-part series, bride-to-be Mansha Mahtani blogs about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at Mayyur Girotra.

“From the time my wedding date got fixed I have been getting advice and suggestions from well-wishers. And while I was aware that everyone was trying to help me, all the download was stressful and confused me further. I decided that from then on, I’d nod my head, ignore the noise and do my own research. My immediate priority was to finalize my wedding outfit and get a fair idea on the ‘look’ I wanted. So I decided to go online and once I started spending a little time on WeddingSutra I figured I had a one-stop solution for all the information. In fact, every time I’d visit WeddingSutra I would be amazed at the depth of their content- so I figured I shouldn’t search topics separately on Google, and just stick to WeddingSutra. One day, I happened to read about WedddingSutra on location, that day I spent many hours reading about the experiences of almost every bride-to-be who had been part of it. I was sure it would be an amazing learning experience so I quickly wrote in to them hoping to get this fabulous opportunity. And yay! A few weeks later I received an invitation for their upcoming On Location shoot at Mayyur Girotra’s Couture Studio.

Arriving at the studio on the scheduled day, I was nervous as well as excited to play bride-to-be. I was welcomed by the lovely Anshu from WeddingSutra who introduced me to the experts- Candid Photographer Dev Purbiya, Makeup Artist Kumar Iyer, Hairstylist Laksh Singh and Cinematographer Rajesh Dembla. I was then asked to look around the studio to shortlist some lehengas; what immediately caught my attention was a lehenga with a golden French lama base with intricate resham and zardosi work all over in tones of reds and oranges. After I tried it, everyone felt it looked really nice, and it was time to start getting ready!

Up next was my make-up and hair. Kumar Iyer and Laksh Singh are the most friendly and humble beauty artists I have met! I usually take a little time to get comfortable with people I meet for the first time, but they made me feel at ease instantly. They asked me more about myself and did my makeup in what I’d call the most ‘natural’ way. Kumar who was using the Lakmé Absolute range also shared some tips on which shades to use from the range, how to apply it right and how to experiment with reds. As for my hair, Laksh transformed it dramatically. I usually stick to a natural look, I leave my hair open, but this was the first time I had a tied up hairdo and I think it looked royal yet glamorous! Once I saw my final look, complete with a stunning Azva neck piece, bracelet and earrings I loved it! It was very ‘me’.

Now, it was time for the difficult part, the photoshoot! Initially I was a little conscious but Dev Purbiya was extremely sweet, and put me at ease by suggesting I look away from the camera and just be myself.  And in no time it was all through!

The whole experience is unique but what makes it special is that you get to meet the experts who delight you with such warmth and treat you gently. For me, it was not just a great learning opportunity, but a beautiful experience and I left with a deep sense of admiration towards every expert I interacted with.

Mansha‘s Look Kumar felt Mansha’s soft features and twinkling eyes can carry off a dewy fresh look. He begins with the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Concealor, follows up with the Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse in Golden Medium and brushes on Lakmé Absolute Cheek Baked Chromatic blush in Night Sheen. For the eyes, he uses the Lakmé Absolute Eye Chromatic Baked Shadow in Day Shimmer, the Lakmé Absolute Shine Liner, Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Mascara and the Lakmé Absolute Kohl in Brown on her lower eye lids. He explains that a medium shade of red, or any dark colour looks best on full lips, while a brighter shade is best for thinner lips. So he opts for the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict in Red Delight to give Mansha fuller lips with a soft red stain, but with high gloss. He then dusts on some Lakmé Absolute White Intense Compact in Golden Medium. Her well-shaped nails look like a delight in the Lakmé Absolute Gel Stylist Tomato Tango.
