Parita Merchant at Neeta Lulla Studio, Mumbai
Bride-to-be Parita's bridal makeover as part of the WeddingSutra on Location series saw her transformed with the best in fashion, makeup and jewelry
In the first of this three-part WeddingSutra on Location series, bride-to-be Parita Merchant tells us about her bridal makeover experience which included trying out stylish lehengas at the Neeta Lulla Studio in Mumbai, flawless makeup by Lakme Absolute crafted by beauty whiz Kumar Iyer and hair by Laksh Singh, ornate jewellery from Azva and a fun- filled photo session with photographers Namit and Vipul of Knotty Affair.
Parita was delighted to win the opportunity to feature in the WeddingSutra on Location photo shoot. Here, she shares her experience of the bridal makeover which was a peep into what she could expect at her own wedding.
Parita shares, “I am an avid fan of WeddingSutra and follow it on various social media platforms. Even before I applied for the WeddingSutra On Location shoot, I had heard great reviews about the experience from my friends. Rest assured, I took the plunge and applied to be featured – and to my delight, I was selected for it!”
The day started with lehenga trials at the Neeta Lulla Studio in Santa Cruz, Mumbai. “I was very enamored by the boutique and was confused about choosing a lehenga because each one of the designer’s creations exuded so much beauty. Finally, after much thought, I decided to wear a bright red Anarkali lehenga with intricate zari embroidery. I chose the color because it complemented my skin tone perfectly and also matched the intricate necklace set from Azva.
“The makeup session was something I was most excited about as I do not wear makeup on a regular basis. Kumar made me feel very comfortable and gave me helpful tricks and tips on makeup application. I looked the most beautiful in the natural look he gave me. I was a little wary of hairstyling as I had recently chopped my hair and also have a lot of baby hair on my forehead, but Laksh gave me gorgeous long waves that suited my face structure beautifully.”
“Next up, it was time for a fun photo session with the talented duo – Namit and Vipul from Knotty Affair. I am not very camera-friendly but both Namit and Vipul made me feel comfortable and less camera conscious by constantly joking and chatting with me all throughout the shoot. I didn’t even realize that they were actually capturing candid shots of me whilst talking!”
“I would like to thank the entire WeddingSutra team for such a lovely experience and this mock bridal photo shoot experience was a wonderful memory that I will cherish forever.”
To balance out the excess color of the bright red lehenga, makeup artist Kumar Iyer gave Parita a matte look. Kumar started with the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation to give her face a flawless finish. He then powdered her face with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact to set her foundation completely. Parita’s doe shaped eyes were accentuated with a subtle touch of a gold shimmer from the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow with a combination of the Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal in black along with generous coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara to give her eyes that added dimension. Kumar then gently dusted a gorgeous shade of pink from the Lakme Absolute Face Stylist duo to add a bit of color to her face. A subtle pop of the Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio High Definition Matte Lipstick in Pink Caress completed the gorgeous bridal look.
