“One of the first inputs I received from my Wedding Planner Yamini Shah of The Wedding Designers was this: ‘WeddingSutra on Location has been a great experience for some of my clients. I think every bride should be lucky enough to get this preview of being a bride’. Initially, I was slightly skeptical. I am very self- conscious, but then I was very tempted. I knew I’d never get a chance like this again before the big day, to loosen up and get a feel of what is to come. I wrote in to team WeddingSutra and some weeks later, I received an email stating I was selected for their upcoming shoot! When I got to know that it was taking place at Shyamal and Bhumika I was really very excited. I’d recently visited their store on a hunt for my trousseau and loved their work!

At Shyamal & Bhumika’s store team WeddingSutra introduced me to the team of experts who were going to create my look for the day. We started with the lehengas. I wanted to wear something heavy and elegant and picked a blue lehenga embroidered with gold floral motifs. We chose a plain golden choli, embellished only with golden tassles and a golden dupatta to offset the intricate embroidery.

Outfit finalized, it was time for makeup and hair. I was delighted to meet Amrita Sanghvi. I love her work! In person, Amrita is really sweet and friendly and put me at ease. To be honest I don’t enjoy wearing heavy makeup and I conveyed this to Amrita. So she just played around with my eye-makeup keeping the rest of the face very subtle.

Once we were done with the clothes and makeup, it was time for some more dazzle. Team WeddingSutra accessorized me with some incredible gold antique jewellery by Azva. I wanted to accentuate my collar bones, so I chose a choker with gold jhumkas.

I’m not very confident in high heels but the diamond studded gold peep toes by Heel and Buckle were both really stunning and very comfortable. I was able to walk in heels for a change!

And just like that, it was time for the photo shoot. I’m really very shy and camera conscious so it was really hard for me to pose. But then, Aayushi and Kanishka of The Wedding Salad asked me to relax, act natural. They’re really a cute pair of photographers.

The entire team was very warm and approachable and made me feel very special. Thank you WeddingSutra for giving me such a wonderful experience, and preparing me for my big day!”

Ria’s Look

For Ria, Makeup artist Amrita Sangavi decided to compliment the blue shade of her lehenga by giving her teal smokey eyes. She started with creating the base with the feather-light Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse in Ivory Fair and set it with the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Compact in Ivory Fair. Since the eyes were the highlight, Amrita decided to keep the rest of the makeup minimal. To highlight her eyes, she used the Lakmé Absolute Color Illusion Pearl Shadow in Smokey Pearl for a shimmery blue base and used the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate to give a bold smokey effect. She then lined her eyes with the Lakmé Absolute Gel Addict eyeliner in Tempting Teal shade which matched the lehenga color and finished with a few coats of the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara to open up her eyes. Amrita then brushed on a hint of Lakmé Absolute Moonlit Highlighter on her cheekbones for a natural luminous glow. For her lips she used a softer Candy Kiss shade of the Lakmé Absolute Lip Tint. Finally she styled her hair in soft curls and clipped it onto one side.
