Rishika Jani – JW Marriott

For the grand edition of our monthly event WeddingSutra on Location, we invited seven brides-to-be for a unique experience at the newest five star hotel in Mumbai, JW Marriott Sahar. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and a Photo Shoot, each of the participants got an opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal & Wedding services.

Here, in the third of the seven-part series, Rishika Jani (Event Consultant) blogs about her experience at the Grand WeddingSutra on Location.

“My wedding was just a few weeks away and there was utter chaos in my life thanks to wedding preps stress. One morning my friend cum wedding planner Sneh Bijlani of Svaha Weddings gave me a patient hearing and then advised: “why don’t you take a break from all this with ‘WeddingSutra on Location’.” I wasn’t sure if the timing was right but since I loved the concept, I decided to give it a shot and write in. In hindsight I think it is best decision I made; this was one fabulous experience which gave me a nice break from daily to-do’s and an up-close and real experience on getting ready for the big day.

Team WeddingSutra were very friendly and after their warm welcome it was time to search for what every bride calls ‘the perfect lehenga’. They helped me select an elegant creation by Ahmedabad-based Designer duo Shyamal & Bhumika- initially I felt it was a little dull for my vibrant taste (I’ve stayed away from pastels for occasion wear) but they explained why it made for the best choice. After I wore it and got ready to face the camera, I realised why this was indeed the perfect lehenga- it was a pastel blue lehenga choli with a beautiful pink dupatta. We teamed it with a contemporary Azva choker and the final look, I felt was stunning.

Some of my friends refer to Ojas as the ‘amagician’. I didn’t quite understand what they meant, until I got a makeover from this super-talented Makeup Artist. More than anything the interaction was fun, she was comforting, friendly and we chatted away in our mother tongue Gujarati.

Then there was the rockstar photographer duo- Ashwin and Jhalak who put me at ease and then got me all ecstatic. They experimented with different locations and angles and guided me with what works best while posing. Full credit to them for making me feel not just like a beautiful bride, but a super model too!

Rishika’s Look
Rishika is a young and peppy bride-to-be, so makeup artist Ojas Rajani decided to give her a trendy spring-summer look. Ojas started with feather-light Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse in Beige Honey to give her a flawless looking skin. She then set the base with the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Compact in Golden Medium. To compliment Rishika’s pastel outfit, Ojas used the Blue Pearl shade of Lakmé Absolute Color Illusion Pearl Shadow and lined her eyes with Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate to give a subtle smokey look. She then applied a few coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara. Ojas then brushed on a hint of the Lakmé Absolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blush in Day Sheer shade on the apples of her cheeks for a flush of color. For Rishika’s lips, Ojas matched the pink of her dupatta with her lips and applied the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Addict in Very Berry shade. She gave her hair extensions and finished with a soft blow dry and dreamy curls at the ends to maintain the soft and young summery look.
