Shivangi Jain, Jade Garden, Mumbai

Experience the gorgeous transformation of bride Shivangi along with her BFF as they get ready for her big day ahead!

As a part of our initiative, WeddingSutra On Location, we invited two brides and their bridesmaids for a unique experience at Jade Garden, Mumbai. These young women were treated to a style consultation and makeover followed by a photo shoot. They also had the opportunity to interact with some of the most prominent names in the bridal and wedding services industries.

In a dress rehearsal of the big day, that included evolving their wedding looks, make up and entire, the brides were given a chance to explore the creations from Rivaah by Tanishq with a focus on jewelry traditional to Maharashtrian brides. Dreamcatchers Photography captured this bride and her bestie along with all their fun moments.

Here, in the first of this two-part series, bride-to-be Shivangi Jain talks about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location.

“We’d never done a shoot before and Team WeddingSutra made sure it was an entirely pleasant experience with their kindness and courtesy. To start with, Jade Garden is a superb venue and it’s also in a very central part of Mumbai so travelling there was hassle free.

The make up was by Lakmé, a brand I love! My final look created was natural, subtle and to me, it was perfect. I loved my lipstick – the Lakme Absolute Brunch Nude – which enhanced my entire look.

The Rivaah by Tanishq collection is elegant and has pieces that resonate with a diverse range of cultures. The pieces for a Maharashtrian bride from the range were extremely beautiful. My favorite ornament has to be the maang tikka that I put on.

Our outfits were from AZA Fashions which has a wide variety of designer ensembles. Our outfits featured vivid colors and really suited the vibrant theme. My lehenga by Jayanti Reddy had such beautiful work on it and the shade of yellow was very apt for a mehendi ceremony.

All in all, I really enjoyed the shoot and thought I looked natural, which is ideal.”

Shivangi’s Look
Shivangi’s bridal look was in accordance with the Maharashtrian theme. The traditional bridal look was given a mod twist via loosened tresses and minimal makeup. Shivangi’s subtle visage was created with a warm toned foundation, well defined eyes and muted pink lips.

The Maharashtrian mulgi look was accentuated with precious jewels from Rivaah by Tanishq – the pearl stringed mundavlya across the bride’s forehead, the traditional nath, the paatli bangles speckled with precious stones and a majestic haar completed Shivangi’s avatar.

Bridesmaid’s Look
The Navrai’s Karavli, Simm Mehta donned a stunning red Tarun Tahiliani sari with ornaments from Rivaah by Tanishq. Keeping it summery, simple and soft, her loosened mane framed a visage highlighted by gorgeous make up. Lakme Absolute Matte Ultimate Lipcolor in Petal Pink and Red Extreme was used for a nice pop of color resonant with the sari. The sari’s embellishment was balanced with the intricate work on the gold bangles, ring and earrings worn by the bridesmaid.
