WeddingSutra’s most popular bridal initiative was held at The Club, Mumbai. In the first of this three-part series, Sonal gets candid and shares her experience as she underwent a gorgeous bridal makeover that transformed her into an epitome of grace.
Every bride dreams of a wedding dress so resplendent it stuns all onlookers. Sonal always envisioned something beautiful but a little unconventional and so when she found an Abhishek Verma creation at Mumbai’s multi-designer bridal store, Ensemble, she knew it was The One. Handpicked by WeddingSutra experts, the floral outfit was accessorized with handcrafted gold jewellery by Azva which added that requisite bridal opulence to the look. Makeup artist Marisa Sethi of Drama Queen by Marisa created a bridal visage using products by Lakmé Absolute. And as Sonal enjoyed her day of transformation, Fotografia9 captured every stage of the makeover so the bride-to-be can revisit her day with WeddingSutra On Location whenever her heart desires.
Keen on the unusual, Sonal was enchanted by a pastel blue lehenga with pink floral embroidery by Abhishek Verma. Covered in muted floral motifs, the cleverly designed border added a touch of shimmer to the outfit and made for an interesting visual play. Sonal loved it, “I’ve never really been a fan of the quintessential colors brides prefer on their big day. So, when I was informed that I had the chance to wear something unconventional yet gorgeous, I was more than excited.”
She selected a set from Azva and picked matching bangles and rings to complement her outfit. “The jewellery from Azva was breathtaking. I would definitely want to accessorize my bridal ensemble with something like this set that blends traditional and contemporary aesthetics”, she said.
For someone who doesn’t wear makeup often, Sonal was actually stunned by her look created by Marisa. The delighted bride said, “My hair and makeup looked perfect and I felt extremely comfortable. Marisa knew exactly what I wanted and enhanced my overall appearance with her brilliant makeup skills.”
Sonal said goodbye warmly, “Being a part of WeddingSutra On Location was a lovely experience. Everyone made me feel comfortable and this was definitely unlike anything I had done before. The photographers made the entire shoot feel so effortless. Thanks to the WeddingSutra team for giving me this opportunity and making everything so easy and comfortable.”
Sonal’s Look
To prep Sonal’s skin, Marisa began with the Lakme Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer and then applied Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation in Ivory Glow. Using the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact, she set the foundation, creating a flawless base to work upon. On her eyes, she added a touch of glam with the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette – Nude Beach and French Rose. She lined her eyelids using the Lakmé Absolute Forever Silk Eyeliner in Blacklast and used Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara to darken her eyes. A soft glow was added to Sonal’s cheeks with the help of the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Coral Blush, and Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Lip Color in Pink Tint was used for the final finish.
