WeddingSutra held its most popular bridal initiative, WeddingSutra On Location at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai, to showcase the best in bridal style from Kalki this wedding season. Captured by photographer Dev Purbiya, here are snapshots showcasing the style consultation and makeover of each participating bride-to-be with make-up artist Bel Jane Fonseca for Lakme Absolute, along with the stunning heirloom jewelry Azva that brought even more glamor to the bridal looks.
In the first of this three-part series, bride-to-be Sudipti Singh tells us about her experience with WeddingSutra On Location at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai.
“As I entered the suite at Taj Lands End I immediately caught the luxurious vibe of the room – breathtaking views of the Sea Link, tranquil interiors – and it put me at ease instantly.
We began by picking an outfit for me- a ravishing deep, emerald green velvet lehenga from Kalki with intricate work in matte gold. The opulent green really complemented my skin tone while the velvet and gold spelled royalty.
I’d never had a professional make-up session before! Bel Jane was fantastic. She brought out a golden glow and went with contrasting ‘statement’ lips in deep wine. I felt every bit the sultry goddess. Then, Madhuriji worked her wonders on my hair and gave me side swept curls, held together with loose braids. We went vintage with the jewelry – traditional gold earrings, a necklace and rings from Azva. The look was perfect.
I was a bit nervous about the photoshoot but it turned out to be the most fun!
Photographer Dev Purbiya was easy-going and very chatty and made sure we felt comfortable right through the shoot. He also helped us loosen up during the super fun video shoot! That’s quite something. From breaking into a song to earning the title of #Twirlmaster, the entire experience made me feel really pampered.
I want to thank WeddingSutra for giving me a chance to experience such an enjoyable shoot! I feel lucky to have been part of this wonderful feature!”
Sudipti’s soft features were accentuated with a semi-matte makeup base. Bel Jane used the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Foundation to give her face a flawless finish. She then dusted the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact around her T-Zone to set her base completely. A touch of gold shimmer from Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette put additional sparkle in her beautiful doe-shaped eyes. A combination of the Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Artist Kajal in black along with generous coats of Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Volume Mascara were the magic wands that brought about those subtle, soft, smoky eyes. Bel Jane then added a touch of the Lakme Absolute Bronzer in Sunkissed which not only helped warm her skin tone but also helped contour. Lips were the main focus of this vintage look and Bel Jane used a stunning Lakmé Absolute Sculpt Studio High Definition Matte Lipstick in Burgundy Affair to highlight that lovely pout for a stunning bridal look.
