Twisha, The Club Mumbai
This Punjabi bride’s stunning makeover was akin to Priyanka Chopra’s bridal look.
WeddingSutra, in collaboration with Lakmé Absolute and Kalyan Jewellers, brings to you ‘WeddingSutra on Location’ – a curated showcase of top bridal trends and style statements from some of our WeddingSutra Favorites.
In the second installment of this three-part series, bride-to-be Twisha Sanghvi experienced a transformative journey with a deft group of professionals who gave her a fetching Punjabi bridal look for her wedding. The shoot took place at The Club Mumbai, a luxurious private club with exclusive membership in the heart of suburban Mumbai.
Kalyan Jewellers extended ornate kundan pieces from their bridal collection for the occasion. With a legacy spanning 109 years, and deep experience of crafting fine jewellery, their wide selection of styles from across the country has something for every bride.
The selected ornaments perfectly complemented the flaming red lehenga by Avvantika S Parwani that stylist Shikha Dhandhia picked for Twisha. Armed with her arsenal of quality products from the iconic Lakmé Absolute range of cosmetics, makeup artist Richa Thakkar gave her a glowing and gorgeous visage. The memorable moments of the session were captured by the team at Knotty Affair by Namit & Vipul.
“The first stop for Twisha’s bridal transformation was Kalyan Jewellers. She shares, “I always used to associate Kalyan Jewellers with temple jewellery and largely traditional designs, and was swept away with their huge range of designs that are perfect for a modern bride’s trousseau. I chose my pieces from their Muhurat Wedding Collection, which includes diverse styles from all corners of India, with options for brides of every culture and taste.”
Sans diamonds, this Punjabi bride opted for traditional kundan jewellery with a shimmering gold leaf design known as Pippal Patti, inspired by the gently quaking peepal/banyan leaves, a common sight in Punjab. The circular maang tikka matched the necklace and earrings. The golden nose ring with a ruby center paired beautifully with the red lehenga, and the single white pearl accentuated the piece further. The pearl, ruby and gold combination continued in the design of the pure gold kaleerein worn by Twisha blended traditional design with modern nuances. Kundan kadas and polki rings completed the look.
For her pretty Punjabi bridal look, Twisha was styled in a stunning red lehenga that combined the quintessential bridal hue with the elegance of contemporary embellishments and the chic vibe of a strappy blouse. Twisha recalls, “I never thought I would wear a red bridal ensemble for my wedding, but the outfit Shikha chose for me actually made me reconsider my decision. The craftsmanship and cut were modern and made me feel super glamorous. Also, the all-red ensemble was evocative of the iconic red lehenga Priyanka Chopra wore for her wedding.”
To enhance the beauty of the ensemble, Richa Thakkar gave Twisha a shimmering smoky eye and bold lips look. As Twisha twirled in her bridal look, Namit and Vipul of Knotty Affair captured her in all her glory.
Richa transformed Twisha into a bronzed goddess with winter berry hued lips to complement the white and gold crystal work of her kundan jewellery. She began by applying the Lakmé Absolute Blur Perfect Primer to prep her skin and followed it up with the Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation Cream for a flawless base, and set the products with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact. She then created a bronze smoky eye look with the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in French rose before using Lakmé Absolute Shine Liquid Eyeliner in Black to give her the perfect winged eyes. She created voluminous, fluttering lashes with Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secret Dramatic Eyes Mascara and the look was completed with the Lakmé Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color in Coral Flip which resulted in gorgeous lips.
