Actress Karishma Tanna ties the knot with her businessman beau Varun Bangera after a hush-hush engagement last year.
Actress and reality TV star Karishma Tanna took the plunge into matrimonial bliss with beau Varun Bangera, a Mumbai-based real estate businessman. The couple, who have kept their relationship under wraps, got engaged last year in November and have been planning their wedding ever since. Reportedly, the couple met through mutual friends and have been together ever since. Hosted at luxurious sea-facing Taj Lands End in Mumbai, the wedding took place with the gentle waves of the Arabian Sea lending a serene backdrop. Decorated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Samani Decorators, the haldi event looked like a fairytale with its sheer beauty. Adding to the team was WeddingSutra Favorite – Epic Stories who captured a plethora of heartwarming shots with their skill behind the lenses.
Keeping the pandemic protocols in mind, the couple planned their festivities very carefully ensuring that the guestlist for the pre-wedding festivities is kept short. The celebrations began with at-home haldi ceremony where the couple looked stunning as they twinned in white. Karishma in particular was the showstopper as she wore a white sleeveless sharara set with delicate mirror work. With her hair styled in a half-up hair-do and white floral jewelry adorning her wrists, ears, and forehead, the bride rocked the all-white look that contrasted beautifully with the haldi slathered on her cheeks. Varun, on the other hand, kept it simple in a white kurta set. Seated against a backdrop of lush greenery interspersed with citrus fruits that added a pop of orange, the decor was the perfect example of traditional style fusing with contemporary sensibilities. Brass urlis filled with delicate white flowers added a touch of glamor and pulled the entire look of the event together.
For her bridal mehndi, Karishma donned a comfy lime-yellow gota patti kurta set as she got henna applied on her hands and feet. On the accessories front, she kept it simple with a pair of statement jhumkas.
The following day was the official Mehndi event where the couple was all smiles as they shook a leg with their loved ones. Seated against a colorful backdrop adorned with tassels and bright blooms Karishma looked radiant in her yellow bandhani work lehenga while Varun contrasted her look in a bright red kurta set. Accessorizing the bride’s look was a statement choker necklace and matching jhumkas.
Hosted at dusk with the gentle waves of the sea giving a romantic backdrop, Karishma and Varun’s wedding was nothing less than a fairytale. Donning a light pink lehenga with matching statement jewelry like an ornate kundan encrusted mathapatti, a choker necklace and several bangles, the bride resembled a queen. Varun complemented his bride in an off-white sherwani paired with a light pink pagdi. Bedecked in pastel blooms, auspicious banana plants and softly lit lanterns, the mandap blended in perfectly with the backdrop while the sindoor application ritual was celebrated with a burst of fireworks.
Following the sunset wedding, was the glamorous reception party where Karishma showed off her moves in a shimmery gold dress. With her hair flowing in loose curls around her shoulders, she danced the night away with Varun and her friends. Attended by telly industry bigwigs like producer Ekta Kapoor, actress Anita Hassanandani, choreographer and reality TV judge Terence Lewis, and actress Ridhima Pandit, the festivities were high on glamour and fun!
