Nauheed Cyrusi and Rustom
Former VJ and Bollywood actress Nauheed Cyrusi wed her longtime beau Rustom at a historic Parsi landmark in Mumbai
Nauheed and Rustom grew up in the same colony and were badminton buddies for long. From their first meeting onwards, the two shared a great rapport and knew they were meant to be together. After three years of courtship, the couple decided to tie the knot according to traditional Parsi customs at the historic Seth Jeejeebhoy Dadabhoy Agiary in Colaba.
Parsi wedding customs are very simple and usually start three days prior to the wedding. One of the first events to take place was a ring ceremony where only women members of the bride’s family are permitted. Nauheed looked radiant in a bright fuchsia saree which she paired with very subtle makeup as befitted the pious occasion.
Madhavsaro and Haldi
The haldi ceremony and the traditional Parsi Madhavsaro ritual, which involves prayers for a happy marriage and fertility, were both held at her home. Nauheed opted to wear a short romper by The Sewing Company which ensured she was comfortable through the day’s long rituals.
The engagement was held on the same day as the ring, haldi and Madhavsaro ceremonies. Nauheed wanted the event to be reminiscent of a fun ‘engagement reception’- sort of like a pre-wedding bash, where her close friend DJ Clement entertained the guests with some foot-tapping tracks. It was attended by her close friends and family. Since the party was held in the evening, she chose to wear a gorgeous blue dress by Ashley Rebello and accentuated her glamorous look with heirloom jewellery.
Nauheed went for white floral décor for the wedding ceremony which was done by Apollo Florists (a company she has also tied up with) at the sacred Seth Jeejeebhoy Dadabhoy Agiary in Colaba. The floating lighting decoration fulfilled her lifelong wish of ‘getting married under the stars!’
She looked stunning in a blush-toned saree with embedded pearls and intricate Swarovski crystal paneling. Since the saree was heavily embellished, her makeup artist Arshis Javeri decided to balance out the glimmer by tying her hair in a sophisticated bun and accentuating her naturally beautiful features with minimal makeup. Even though Rehan Daruwalla was her official photographer for the wedding, her close friend Nitesh added to the ‘wow’ element by clicking some of the most candid shots of the couple
