As pictures from the most awaited wedding in Bollywood were released, it was quite apparent that Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood’s top actresses of the moment, had set the fashion bar high with her off-beat choices. Right from her bright fuchsia lehenga at the Mehndi to her incredibly elegant ivory saree at her Wedding, Alia with her sartorial choices seamlessly balanced tradition with her very own contemporary style! Here’s a glimpse of her exquisite wedding wardrobe.
Mehndi
For the Mehndi, Alia chose a vibrant pink lehenga that was distinctively feminine and boldly stood out against the earthy, subtle tones at her home. A custom-made outfit that carried symbols which resonated with the bride’s journey, this lehenga featured approximately 180 different textile patches that were woven together. Accentuated by real gold zari and floral embroidery, the lehenga was crafted out of upcycled textiles hailing from different parts of the country. Paired with a sleeveless choli this ensemble ensured that the bride stayed comfy while getting mehndi applied to her palms. As usual, Alia chose minimalistic nude makeup and allowed her jewelry, which included an ornate necklace and maang tikka to make a resounding statement with its heavy Kundan work and emerald drop stones. Additionally, she also wore delicate floral bracelets on her wrists.
Wedding
For the wedding, Alia wore a hand-dyed ivory saree with intricate embroidery work and a dainty butterfly embroidered blouse. Her accessories included a stunning diamond-studded choker necklace with pearl drops, an ornate sheeshpatti, bangles and matching jhumkas. Her elegant Mangalsutra with an infinity locket and a single pearl grabbed all the attention as it gently peeped out from beneath her studded Kundan necklace.
Alia’s look was an apt reflection of her personality. A delicate hand-embroidered tissue veil softly covered her head and yet allowed her hair to flow freely. Her makeup was fuss-free with a nude pink lipstick and a touch of kohl on the eyes.
After party
For her wedding after-party, Alia donned a bright red sleeveless Anarkali with a sleek floral border. Accessorizing her look was a statement maang tikka, her Mangalsutra, Kundan bangles and Choodas. With her hair pulled back in a sleek ponytail, she danced the night away with her beau unhindered.
Reception
After the stunning traditional outfits, Alia decided to step up the glamor quotient at her reception with a sparkly dress! The silver mini dress with its ruffled skirt was perfect for the high-spirited event where she had a gala time shaking a leg. Accessorizing the look was a pair of studded block heels perfect for the lady of the moment!
