A Glimpse Inside Pippa Middleton's 'Cherry Blossom' Fairy Tale Wedding
Married to: James Matthews
On: 20th May, 2017
With several heirs to the throne on the guest list, the cream of high society in attendance and a picture perfect English country setting, Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa Middleton married James Mathews.
As expected, Pippa, 33, looked stunning in a Giles Deacon A-line gown in cotton silk lace with a high neck and capped sleeves. The bespoke silk cotton lace was hand appliquéd to create an illusion of the dress having no seams. It is thought that the stunning cap-sleeved, white lace creation cost in the region of £40,000. Pippa accessorised her bridal outfit with a Maidenhair fern tiara by Robinson Pelham, a tulle and pearl-embroidered veil by Stephen Jones and an ivory satin Manolo Blahnik pumps. For her “something old”, Pippa wore the same Robinson Pelham pearl earrings which she wore for Kate’s wedding in 2011.
Their nuptials took place at St Mark’s Church in Englefield in Berkshire. Pippa gleamed to the world with her new husband and a troupe of eight youngsters under the watchful eye of a discreet Duchess of Cambridge. An eclectic guest list included ITV broadcaster Tom Bradby, Vogue executive fashion director Serena Hood, and Gabriella Windsor, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent amongst many other.
As the ceremony neared, two vintage Jaguar Mk IV cars pulled up to cheers, with the Duchess of Cambridge and the eight youngest members of the party inside. After the new Mr. and Mrs. Matthews left the church as husband and wife, the 150 ceremony guests relocated to the nearby Englefield House for a midday reception, where they dined on mini haggis, deer carpaccio with mushroom, fresh langoustine claws and asparagus with Hollandaise sauce.
