Tara Deshpande

Actress, Model

Married to: Daniel Tennebaum

On: 4/28/2001

Tara and Daniel had a Jewish wedding ceremony in Minneapolis Minnesota and later a Maharashtrian wedding in Mumbai. Tara’s wedding gown was a rose blush color one, embroidered with Swarovski crystals and sequins. She bought the skirt and veil material at Kaysons in Mumbai and her family tailor Dilip Parmar embroidered the same. The bustier was tailored in the US. For the Maharashtrian wedding, Tara wore a Banarasi sari in orange and gold that has been in her family since about 125 years. Like all Maharashtrian brides, she wore the nath, mangalsutra, bajoobandh, motimaal etc. For the reception at Dhanush, Tara wore an emerald green sari with a zardozi gold border. Says Tara: “The border was over 150 years old and every time a bride in the family gets married, the gold and stones on the border are polished, cleaned and put on a new sari. It gave me great pride to be able to wear these heirlooms that represented my forefathers”.
