91-year old celebrity baker Sylvia Weinstock stepped out of retirement just to create a stunning 6-tier floral cake.
The wedding of Bill and Melinda Gates’s 25-year old daughter to equestrian Nayel Nasser was a quaint affair at the couple’s farm in Westchester, New York. While the dreamy wedding planned by celebrated wedding planner Marcy Blum Events was truly divine on its own, the cherry on the cake (pun intended!) was the stunning 6-tier floral cake by Sylvia Weinstock, the baker to the stars!
Just a mere weeks before her demise, the widely celebrated 91-year old baker, who has made elaborate cakes for everyone from Oprah Winfrey and Robert de Niro to Sofia Vergara’s wedding cake, came out of retirement just to create a culinary masterpiece for the couple. The baker who had once famously said they never count the flowers but just keep adding, decked the towering cake with layers of hand-crafted off-white and soft pink roses.
