Kumar Swamy and Deepika Sadnanda got married in Bangalore. He and Deepika are both Software Engineers. She works for Tech Mahindra, and he is with Cognizant. Says KumarSwamy: “We met at a family get-together. It was ‘love at first sight’ for me, but Deepika took some time to give the much-awaited ‘Yes’. She finally said ‘Yes’ after ten months.”
KumarSwamy writes about his Wedding Planning experiences
As our families knew of our decision, they shared our horoscope with the Purohit who suggested we get married within the month of May. We were informed that 13th May was one of the auspicious days in South India, marking the celebrations of Akshaya Trithiya and Basava Jayanthi, so it was decided we tie the knot that day. We got married at the Nityotsava Kalyan Mantap in Bangalore, as per the South Indian Hindu wedding traditions.
With our wedding date getting fixed so quickly, we had very little time to plan the wedding. We faced quite a challenge to zero down the venue, print the invitation cards, shop for our wedding outfits and accessories, and take swift decisions on the decor and vendors! We literally had to put in all our free time post work hours, and even take days off from work to complete all our wedding preparations in time.
Advice for Grooms to be
A recommendation for all the grooms out there- wedding preparations can be stressful for us, but it’s definitely not comparable to what a bride goes through, so spend some extra time helping your wife-to-be, rather than spending it all on yourselves!
1. A heart-filled thanks to Wedding Sutra who made it easy for us to find all our vendors around town
2. Thanks to all the people we worked with who made our event a grand success.”
