How We Met

“Ours was an arranged marriage, and we first got acquainted through our parents. We connected well at our first meeting itself, and that connection soon turned into something special.” The couple recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in Seychelles. Explaining their choice of destination, they add, “There was hardly a month left until our anniversary when we realized that we were too late to plan any trip overseas to celebrate our special day. So we started exploring options through online research, calling travel agents and checking flight prices. What made us choose Seychelles was its convenient ‘Visa on Arrival’ option and the fun activities it offers which we felt that other beach destinations lacked!”

Trip Highlights

Niyati and Hardik’s candid pictures show a glimpse of everything they savored together – be it a bicycle ride through a lush park estate, relishing a meal or simply unwinding out on the beach. “What made Seychelles special were its serene beaches and breathtaking sunsets over the Indian Ocean that gave us goosebumps every evening. The heat inspired us to immerse ourselves in the sparkling waters daily.”

“The first day, we traveled from Mahe airport to Praslin by ferry. We checked into Berjaya Praslin Beach Resort which was opposite the Cote d’Or Beach. After unpacking, we headed to the beach to relax, swim and snorkel. On the second day, we took another ferry to La Digue where we rented bicycles to explore the lanes and beaches there. We also spent some time at the ‘L’Union Estate’ which is a coconut and vanilla plantation reserve. On our way to the popular ‘Anse Source d’Árgent’ beach, we came across the famous and human-friendly giant tortoises. The beach had clear water with the fish swimming around our legs as we made our way through the black gigantic rock structures.”

“Our third and most adventurous day of the trip included a lot of water activities. We contacted Octopus Diving Centre which had well-trained instructors who got us ready for our first ever scuba diving experience at St. Pierre Island! The clear tropical waters were rich with multi-colored fishes swimming in clusters. We were lucky to get shots of stingrays and a reef shark which left us completely awe-struck!”

“On the fourth day, we took a ferry to Mahe Island. We loved the H Resort Beau Vallon Beach which is a huge property with lavish suites and verdant plantations. The resort if connected to the lovely ‘Beau Vallon’ beach. We did some kayaking and explored the beach leisurely. We followed that up with a romantic lunch where we were serenaded by the sound of the gentle waves and views of the carpet of white sand. The next day, we headed out to explore the best of Mahe and Victoria. After souvenir shopping at Victoria, we visited Eden Island for an amazing Indian lunch at The Maharajas. The rest of the day was spent relaxing by the beach and walking down the beautiful shores inhaling the fresh, invigorating ocean breeze.”

Best Meal of the Trip
“We relished some of our best meals at the H Resort Beau Vallon Beach on Mahe Island with its dinner buffets offering a large variety of delicacies, live counters, and multiple dessert options. We also liked the food at Indian restaurants such as The Maharajas at Eden Island and Mahek at Mahe Island.”

Most Romantic Moments
“We realized there that nothing could be simpler and better at creating an atmosphere of romance than by simply walking barefoot together on a serene, secluded beach, feeling the soft white sand under our feet, enjoying the cool ocean breeze, watching a stunning sunset or stargazing while holding hands.”
