Peek into the duo’s heartwarming wedding celebration in stunning Langkawi.
Nayana and Amit knew for sure that they wanted a destination wedding – not least because their families are scattered all over the world. And so, it’s little wonder they chose the Jewel of Kedah, the spectacular archipelago of Langkawi to host their warm, wonderful celebrations. As their families and friends congregated to witness the union of this lovely couple, we get a peek into what a big, fat Indian wedding can look like.
Langkawi’s big skies were filled with dramatic clouds and the sun playing peekaboo over the horizon. The expanses of ocean reflected changing skies as the mountains hung in the backdrop and this is how we are welcomed to the couple’s three-day festivities.
The first thing you notice is that this family loves dancing. From twirling toddlers to giggling grandmas, everyone is busting a move in absolute joy! The happiness is infectious and you catch yourself smiling as you watch a montage of the exhilarating wedding functions; the boisterous dinner party, a mehndi by the beach, a vibrant sangeet, an intimate haldi and the warm wedding ceremony. There is a natural warmth and lack of artifice to each frame. This is what family is supposed to look like when they come together to commemorate a new union.
The bride talks about the vision the couple had for their wedding, “We both wanted a destination wedding with all our family and friends together in one place. Langkawi’s scenery is amazing and it’s just a lovely place”.
Shots of the couple sharing intimate moments with each other are interspersed with the visuals of the family immersing themselves in the revelries. At their reception, in an emotive snippet, Dheeraj talks about their journey together. “Nayan, honestly, over the past few months you have been a mix of amazing and annoying, but even with all that I would not have wanted to share it with anyone but you,” he says. On that note, the video closes with a visual of the two looking toward paradise, against the picturesque seascape of Langkawi.
