Sandy and Channi at Paradisus Playa Del Carmen La Esmeralda, Mexico

From sunsets over the sea to sentiments beneath the smiles, Sandy and Channi's wedding film by Michael J Scott Productions captures all the large and little details of the four-day event at a Mexican resort

The opening track of this wedding film is a romantic Bollywood number with soulful lyrics, and that sets the tone for the romance, emotions and large-scale cinematic feel of Sandy and Channi’s four-day ‘international’ nuptials in the beautiful environs of the Paradisus Playa Carmen La Esmeralda resort in Mexico. Sandy, the bride, hails from Canada, and Channi is from UK. They met on vacation in Las Vegas, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Shot by the team at Michael J Scott Productions, this Next-day Edit film initially focuses a lot on the couple in different poses and commences with a silhouette of Sandy and Channi against a blazingly beautiful sunset over the Caribbean Sea. Some of the most striking images of the couple include drone shots of them on a bridge surrounded by jaw-dropping greenery, close-ups of their bridal attires with a focus on exquisite details like the bride’s jewellery or the groom’s sherwani with intricate embroidery, alongside stunning locale shots with the golden beaches, brilliant blue sea and lush greenery. Every event took place within the sprawling resort, even the sunrise engagement shoot.

The fiery orange decor of the wedding mandap for the daytime wedding ceremony, floral arrangements, drapes and seating areas lights up the screen as it mirrors the sunset colors and contrasts nicely with the sand and sea.

The film also zooms into those all-important elements that make every wedding so special. It subtly depicts the blossoming relationship between elders of both the families as they hug and exchange garlands. Sandy’s spontaneous emotions and tears are caught during a Face Time call with one of her dearest friends who could not attend the wedding. The ‘meet-and-greet’ session depicts the bonhomie of two families coming together, while the joint ‘haldi’ session on the beach sees the sporting couple having fun with their loved ones.

With the couple hailing from opposite sides of the Atlantic, Canadian and UK flags waved by friends and family make occasional appearances through the film – as do Mexican sombrero hats at one evening event. The Paradisus Playa Del Carmen La Esmeralda resort was a strategic wedding venue for the couple as they wanted their guests to enjoy a true all-inclusive experience, while they could have the dream beach wedding which they desired. This destination wedding film visually reinforced the bride and groom’s cross-continental love story, and how they were coming together from two different parts of the world in an evocative and interesting way.
