Aayushi and Sourav, Jim Corbett
A luxe resort in the middle of a lush forest played host to this intimate wedding.
Lawyers by profession, college sweethearts Aayushi and Sourav tied the knot in the lush expanse of a luxury resort in Jim Corbett Park. Here are a few glimpses of the intimate wedding.
How they met
“Sourav and I were in law school together. The first time we spoke to each other, we both knew that it was no ordinary interaction. Around six years of togetherness has taught us that our opposing natures were designed to perfectly complete each other in the most beautiful way. From best friends to business associates and now life partners, our journey has been amazing, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for our future”.
Wedding Venue
“For our wedding, we wanted a place close to nature, and something that was very peaceful and calm. After some scouting, we found a beautiful property called Aahana The Corbett Wilderness Resort in Jim Corbett which was perfect for our intimate wedding with just close friends and our families.”
Wedding Planning
“To capture every moment of our wedding celebrations, we entrusted the talented team of Safarnama films with the responsibility of capturing our special memories. I chose Aarti Makker for my hair and makeup and she gave me flawless looks for each function. We did our entire trousseau shopping from Kolkata.”
Wedding Functions
Engagement
The festivities commenced with an evening engagement function. The bride and groom to be, dressed in a shimmering ombre pink saree and a suave bandhgala suit respectively, entered to the glitter and drama of a spectacular cold pyro display before exchanging rings. The decor of lights and candles lent an air of magic to the evening.
Mehndi
The mehndi ceremony was a vibrant and musical event with colorful yet minimal decor comprising props, flowers, drapes and seating arrangements adding to the beauty of the forest backdrop. The couple along with their wedding party entered the function dancing to lively music. The bride looked radiant in a yellow lehenga which the groom complemented in his mustard silk kurta pyjama and bandi jacket.
Haldi
The day of the wedding kicked off with the haldi ceremony in the morning. The decor of marigold flowers looked beautiful in their simplicity and made the perfect background for the lively event as the couple’s loved ones smeared them with turmeric paste.
Wedding
The outdoor wedding function was a dreamy starlit affair. Minimalistic lighting with lanterns and pastel flowers were used to enhance the beauty of the lush surroundings. The bride and groom looked ethereal in matching ensembles with an ivory, gold and blush palette, which were embellished with intricate embroidery.
Advice for Couples
“Try not to plan and control everything. Minor things may go awry, but trust the flow of events and just enjoy the entire journey. Stay hydrated and focused on the significance and joy of the experience. Also, try to spend as much time with your parents. It’s just as much their dream come true as yours.”
