How They Met
Abhishek shares, “We met through our families who’ve been acquainted for a long time. Aditi is based out of Hyderabad and I hail from Mumbai, so we met once in person and through the lockdown, our friendship strengthened via regular texts and video calls! As time flew by, we even made 12-hour drives to meet each other at our respective locations. Both of us share the same wavelength and are ambitious at heart. Aditi aided her family’s skincare brand while I handled my business of ship recycling. We have also partnered to launch a wellness brand as I’m a certified nutritionist and health coach. The key to our successful relationship is that we understand each other’s priorities and have helped bring out the best in each other.”

The Proposal
Recollecting the way he surprised Aditi with the proposal, Abhishek shares, “In July, during the lockdown, I contacted a seaside venue in Mumbai to book their premises for a day. It was a lovely intimate setting with flowers in her favorite shades of white, green and purple. Plus the music and food were all based on anecdotes we’d both shared ever since we’d met. A small videography team captured the proposal moment and Aditi teared up! It was truly a magical day.”

Wedding Planning
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Aditi and Abhishek’s pre-wedding photoshoot and destination wedding was smoothly executed. Abhishek shares, “For the pre-wedding photoshoot we’d decided on various locations and themes with Morii. It was our first ever shoot and they really made us comfortable and we enjoyed every moment of it! We made the most of the beautiful beaches in Goa and even walked into the waves still wearing our outfits. I’m incredibly amazed at how team Morii handled everything! Everyone was warm and caring which helped us to be ourselves in front of the camera. Even during the wedding, Morii struck a rapport with everyone present, which in turn resulted in candid pictures which effortlessly captured the essence of the wedding.”

Gushing about the decor team, bride Aditi happily shares, “Working with Dreamzkrraft was a breezy process! They keenly heard out our ideas and amplified them. Each event had its own unique concept and details were meticulously looked into at every one of them. Their team is extremely hard-working, innovative, and flexible. We would love to work with them again. ”

Sharing how they had promptly switched locations due to the pandemic, Aditi shares, “Originally our wedding was supposed to happen in Bahrain, but we had to switch it to Goa keeping the pandemic in mind. The planning process was hectic and trying to make our dream wedding a reality involved constant communication with vendors and others while exchanging ideas and contacts. We managed it all by ourselves and since this was a big wedding, safety was our priority.”

Weddings Functions
Mehndi
Aditi shares, “Abhishek’s mom spearheaded this idea and it turned out to be so beautiful! It was an outdoor event with a dance floor and mehndi artists who etched henna patterns on everyone’s palms. However, the highlight of the event was when I took Abhishek by surprise with a dance performance inspired by Radha and Krishna.”

Sangeet
High on glitz, the ‘Bollywood Glamour’ themed Sangeet was also an open-air event hosted under the starlit sky. Lit up by LED signage, vintage bulbs and fairy lights, everyone grooved into the wee hours of the night. Covered in rich blue tablecloths with vivid floral centerpieces, the tables were placed strategically around the lawn so that the guests could sit back and watch the proceedings comfortably.

Carnival
Aditi shares, “When in Goa, one cannot help but enjoy the Goan vibes! For the Carnival, we went all out with a pastel decor accentuated by blooms, cane furniture and tropical-themed prints. An adventurous Abhishek went a step ahead by trying his hand at a rock-climbing session and also performed a couple of handstands before an impressed crowd. What’s more, he even serenaded me by singing songs!”

Sufi Night
Bedecked with Mughal decor elements that included a graceful entrance arch and a stage backed by multiple ethnic cutwork arches, the Sufi night was hosted under the starry night sky. Once the pre-wedding rituals were performed on the bride and groom by the elders, the stage was lit up by fire performers who were awe-inspiring! This was followed by the bride and groom dancing to a heartwarming, romantic waltz number onstage.

Haldi
Brimming with marigolds and brass decor elements, the Haldi followed tradition with its all-yellow decor. Sunkissed and cheery, this event unraveled everyone’s playful side as they teased the couple and slathered them with turmeric. Sheltered by a breezy canopy that played peek-a-boo with the blue sky, the Haldi was picturesque with both Aditi and Abhishek smiling endlessly.

Wedding
Aditi shares, “Abhishek promised me a sunset varmala and he delivered! Even though his baraat took over four hours to reach the venue, he pushed his squad and made it on time. Our wedding mandap was festooned with red blooms and constructed on top of the foamy waves. As we tied the knot, we felt blessed by the forces of nature around us. It was such a special moment with the refreshing sea breeze blowing by and the happiness our loved ones exuded.”

After Party
After the traditional seaside Wedding, Aditi and Abhishek celebrated their union with a glitzy after-party indoors. The theme was ‘white and pop!’ for which the indoor venue resembled a swanky club with its colorful spotlights, white blooms and striped stage. With bubbles floating around them and their favorite tracks playing on the speakers, the newlyweds showed off their best moves.

Advice For Couples
Aditi shares, “If you wish to make it meaningful then ensure that you’re involved at every step of the way, right from selecting the venue, the vendors and fleshing out the flow of each event. Once the ideation is done, step back to let the execution and coordination happen by itself. Wedding planning can be hectic but soak in every moment and enjoy yourselves!”
