Set against the sun-kissed shores and lush tropical beauty of Thailand, Aishwarya V R and Vishal Venkatesh’s destination wedding was a bold, heartfelt celebration of love, freedom, and individuality. Eschewing convention, the couple curated every detail themselves, infusing their personalities into every moment.
How They Met
“We first met at a J.P. Morgan conference in Delhi, not exactly the place you’d expect sparks to fly,” share Aishwarya and Vishal with a smile. “But somehow, amidst all the panels and networking, we found ourselves deep in conversation that didn’t stop. From inside jokes to endless banter, it felt like we’d known each other forever. We called it friendship back then. But let’s be honest, no one believed us.” Then, in October 2023, beneath the glittering lights of the Eiffel Tower, Vishal popped the question that would turn their beginning into a lifelong promise!
Wedding Venue
“We always envisioned a wedding that felt unmistakably ‘us’, i.e., intimate, full of personality, and unlike anything conventional,” share Aishwarya and Vishal. “A sunset beach ceremony had always been Aish’s dream, while Vishal wanted the freedom to celebrate without restrictions on music, timings, or even smoking. Since we were planning and funding the entire wedding ourselves, we were clear on one thing—there would be no compromises. Every decision had to reflect our story.” As they scouted locations, Thailand emerged as the perfect canvas. “The warmth of Thai hospitality far surpassed anything we experienced elsewhere, and the country offered flexibility and value that matched our vision and budget. And when we stumbled upon a beautiful island resort just 10 minutes from Phuket, we knew we’d found the one—private, luxurious, and ideal for hosting those dearest to us,” they recall.
Wedding Planning
“My husband and I had the most beautiful, intimate wedding in January 2025, set against the gorgeous backdrop of Phuket, Thailand,” shares Aishwarya. “What makes it even more special is that we planned and funded the celebration completely ourselves. This is proof that you can have your dream destination wedding, your way!”

Mehndi
Aishwarya and Vishal’s mehndi celebration was a warm, intimate gathering steeped in laughter, tradition, and personal touches. Set against a cozy indoor backdrop adorned with cheerful yellow and green drapes, the space exuded a homely charm that felt both festive and heartfelt.
Sangeet
Aishwarya and Vishal’s sangeet was a magical night under the stars, where glamour met effortless charm on the golden sands of Thailand. Draped in a canopy of fairy lights and glowing bulbs, the beach was transformed into a celestial wonderland. Pampas grass, dried florals, and dramatic feathered installations framed the dance floor, while soft candlelight and whimsical details added warmth to the setting.
Haldi
Set against a lush tropical backdrop, Aishwarya and Vishal’s haldi celebration unfolded by the pool in a riot of colour, laughter, and unfiltered joy. The décor embraced minimal elegance as a soft cream sofa adorned with bright marigold and gota accents, rustic wooden elements, and serene water reflections added to the charm. Dressed in vibrant hues, the couple made a spirited entrance, setting the tone for a celebration that was high on energy.
Wedding
Aishwarya and Vishal’s beachside pheras were a picture of elegance and emotion, set against the serene sea waves. Vishal made a spirited baraat entry on a decorated trike, while Aishwarya walked in gracefully in her red monochrome lehenga. The ceremony unfolded beneath a canopy of cascading white blooms and a delicate chandelier, lending a touch of romance to the beachside setting.
