Amruta Shewale and Mohit Kotkar celebrated their love with all the pomp and splendor of a Big Fat Indian wedding. Wedding Planning
Spread across 3 days, Amruta and Mohit’s traditional Maharashtrian wedding saw 7 spectacular functions, all of which were hosted at Radisson Blu Resort & Convention Centre in Karjat. The couple entrusted the team of Beyond The Decor to plan, design, and orchestrate all of their wedding details. The team designed each function to evoke a different theme with exquisite decor and festivities and ensured every moment of the destination wedding was fun-filled, beautiful, and memorable for the couple and their guests.
Wedding Functions
Mehendi
For the inaugural mehndi soiree, the venue was transformed into a pink paradise with hues of pink enveloping everything from the stone pathway to the lawns, seating, stage, and more for a truly magical ambiance. Brimming with loads of fresh flowers, 3-D art flowers, photo-op corners, flamingos, quirky elements like vanity cases, etc, the occasion transitioned beautifully from day to night as everyone enjoyed music, dance, and laughter.
Welcome Lunch
The next day began with a whimsical carnival-themed welcome lunch full of colors and enjoyment for all their guests. Carnival dancers and clowns on stilts welcomed the guests into a wonderland filled with candy hued-decor, fun activities, delicious eats, and a whole lot more. The bride and groom matched the mood of the decor in floral-inspired ensembles.
Sangeet
Inspired by Moulin Rouge, the glamorous Sangeet soiree saw plush red and gold decor filled with luxurious textures, vintage artifacts, rich floral arrangements, gilded details, and more. The bride sported a gold couture gown while the groom looked suave in a bejeweled crimson tuxedo as they enjoyed an evening of music and dance with their loved ones.
Simant Pooja
The next day began with the traditional ceremony of Simant Pooja. Imbibed with the flavors of South India, the occasion saw the decor of banana leaves and traditional blooms like rajnigandha and marigolds, while the couple and their families dressed in vibrant sarees, kurta, mundu, and shawls in pure silk.
Haldi
The festivities continued with a decadent poolside Haldi, for which the couple swapped out traditional marigolds for the Arabic-inspired decor of exotic flowers, gilded structures, lamps, drapes, and more. The occasion transitioned into the night with Sufi music and revelries.
Wedding
Imbibed with Maratha royalty, the wedding ceremony was a sight to behold. Bold hues, sparkling chandeliers, rich floral arrangements, spectacular installations of peacocks, and more filled the banquet with splendor as the couple tied the knot surrounded by their loved ones.
Reception
The festivities came to a thunderous close with a grand Met-Gala-themed Reception. Imagined in jewel tones, the evening saw intricately crafted decor, professional dancers, couture ensembles, and riveting revelries as everyone celebrated the newly married couple.
