Ankita and Rohan, Udaipur

One-of-a-kind decor and breathtaking venues defined this duo’s lakeside wedding.

Udaipur’s splendor comes from its wealth of heritage architecture, the charm of its ancient city streets and the lakes that throw light into the city.

Captivated, Ankita and Rohan decided to share the magic and spend two luxurious, loved-up days with their guests at their wedding at the plush Oberoi Udaivilas.

Wedding Function

Welcome Tea
A warm welcome was translated literally into a high-tea. Guests said their hellos to the couple at the beginning of the celebrations at a simple, elegantly decorated venue. Cushions in Chevron prints of blue and yellow piqued an otherwise pristine white décor.

Sangeet and Cocktail
With the tea service over, it was time to play up the drama with a theme that truly stood out. The sangeet and cocktails were hosted at the Leela Palace, Udaipur in a set up inspired by tropical rainforests. Specially designed by architect Rooshad Shroff, the decor boasted fauna typical to the dense jungles. The bride wore a sleek white gown while the groom opted for a black tuxedo. The couple had invited a band who performed live and had the crowds dancing until sunrise!

Vintage Lunch
The next morning was all about paying beautiful homage to an era bygone. The couple planned a lunch with decor that encapsulated a vintage charm. Lavender and pink ruled the color palette and lots of floral prints made an appearance as part of the setup.

Pheras
At Ankita and Rohan’s wedding ceremony, The Oberoi Udaivilas was transformed into a magical garden of white and green with tints of grey. A 160-foot leveled ramp was constructed on the rolling lawns of the property, beneath eight floral archways smothered in fresh white flowers and green leaves.

The jai mala took place under a bough of a tree decorated with strings of white orchids and the floor was transformed into a bed of baby’s breath. With fairy lights sparkling, the set up looked straight out of a mystical forest.

Ankita was sure she wanted a white mandap and Vandana Mohan and her team took it upon themselves to make that a reality. On the banks of Lake Pichola, the team created a canopy pigmented only with specs of green. The pond at the venue was decorated with floral elements and lit with floating candles.

The bride had envisioned a set up that was simple, yet struck people with its beauty and with the help of Vandana Mohan and her team, she managed to create just that.

Wedding Dinner
Red and gold were the colors of the evening with the most adorable elephants making key decor elements for the night. The bride’s love for the pachyderm was in evidence across the décor with miniature versions of the giant mammal placed on the table amidst floral arrangements across the venue and champagne gold upholstery adding all the glamour required. This event was truly noteworthy.
