Minimalist and chic, this couple’s wedding was a tribute to the Thar Desert’s unique flora and desi traditions.

Bianca Sagar, the Creative Director at Renu Zaveri Jewellery and Dev Sagar, the founder of Manoj and Dev Jewelry tied the knot in style with a lavish destination wedding in Rajasthan. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Morani and Soorma, the couple fearlessly experimented with unique themes. Designing their dream wedding was WeddingSutra Favorite – House of Vivaah who reflected the duo’s love aesthetics and minimalism.

Wedding Planning
Karan Soorma & Noureen Morani share, “The couple was very involved from the start, they were clear about the vibe they wanted to create with each event. They wanted every experience to be intimate and personal, the events had to be a reflection of their personality – modern but rooted, minimal with attention to detail, abstract but meaningful.”

Wedding Functions
Welcome
Karan from the planning team shares, “The arrival party of the guests was in a Royal Rajasthani fashion with classical musicians and folk dancers hosted at the Champa Garden. The couple wanted to complete the pheras on the first day so they could get a chance to participate in all the festivities fully. Therefore, the welcome lunch was actually a baraat brunch, complete with a DJ, dholwalas, and alternative Punjabi music. The decor was simple and festive with marigold arrangements combined with traditional Rajasthani tents to beat the heat. And, the spread consisted of Punjabi delicacies.”

Music Festival
Instead of the usual sangeet, the couple opted for a spectacular music festival where they danced the night away! Karan shared, “The inspiration was a burning man-styled music festival in the middle of the desert hosted at Sunset Patio. Going fully trippy, the decor had only two stand-out elements, kinetics balls created a ceiling of colour and movement over the dance floor and an acid butterfly formed the DJ backdrop. The invites carried a very detailed look book and the guests were dressed at their best and for those who weren’t, we had face art with rhinestones and diamante stickers! The party went on till sunrise.”

Vow Ceremony
Noureen shares, “The bride wore a red gown instead of traditional white. The decor followed rustic minimalism as we wanted the authenticity of the Fort to stand out. The groom was hoisted atop the shoulders of his friends and his nephew, a toddler was the ring man! Overall, this ceremony was very heartfelt and romantic.”

Ball
Karan shares, “The surrealist ball was eclectic, artistic, focusing on headgear. The decor was very gothic, minimal but outlandish characterized by chandeliers on the floor, tall slender gothic candles, reds and blacks. The walls of the venue were washed in crimson with long drapes that flowed down two stories. It was a dive into a dream world – a dystopian version of the 1970s that turned the courtyard of Suryagarh Palace into a surrealistic ball.”

Wedding
Noureen shares, “Rustic, subtle, and modern – the inspiration for the mandap was the Thar desert which was the backdrop for the wedding. Even though the aesthetic was super traditional, it had an air of minimalism and a modern finish since the bride preferred unconventional things. The Hindu wedding ceremony’s decor was a breathtaking tribute to the desert’s flora, seamlessly complementing the soft pastel hues of the palace. Bianca made a stunning entry to the wedding as entered with her brother in tow.”
