How They Met
Darshan and Divya first crossed paths at their workplace, and much like in the movies, Darshan fell in love with her at first sight. He struck up a conversation with her over Facebook, and before long they were inseparable, talking and spending time together. It was a long wait for Darshan, but his love persevered and paid off handsomely when months later, Divya said yes to his sunset proposal in Goa, the same place where they first expressed their feelings for each other.
Wedding Planning
Spread across 3 days, Divya and Darshan’s wedding was an intimate affair chalked out beautifully by Mpire Events. The elegant, tasteful set-up for each function was thoughtfully curated by To The Aisle to not only match the vibe of the bride and the groom but also make their guests feel at home. Unique touches like a perfume bar, customized cocktails, wedding favors like mints, bath salts and more, made the wedding all the more memorable for the guests, while every night was topped with a rocking after-party to ensure that everyone enjoyed it to the fullest. Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Brimming with vibrant colors, the Mehndi function kicked off the festivities. Huge pots of bougainvillea in every hue along with acrylic signages added a lively, youthful feel to the occasion. In contrast, acrylic chairs were used for the seating arrangement to let the colors truly pop. The bride and groom rocked bold colors and prints, as they danced in a drum circle organized by their friends.
Ring Ceremony
The striking couple exchanged rings in an indo-fusion ring ceremony with an eclectic vibe in shades of berry red, black, and gold. Floating candles inspired by The Great Hall in their favorite Harry Potter films and a stage backdrop of floating lampshades added a charming touch to the evening. The couple sported chic ensembles of black and crimson to match the decadent yet classy vibe of the evening.
Sangeet
A glitzy night under the stars, their glam Sangeet saw riveting performances by their friends and family to the couple’s favorite songs on a concert-like stage with LED graphics and lights. Rousing tunes by Bhavya Raj Experience had everyone dancing into the night.
Haldi
The final day began with a Haldi function imbued with the flavors of Gujarat. The earthy decor consisting of terracotta pots, a spinning wheel and marigold flowers lent a warm feel to the occasion. Traditional Garba numbers set a lively ambience while a dress code of Bandhani and Leheriya outfits added a burst of colors.
Wedding
The couple got their forest wedding theme with a whimsical celebration cocooned in greenery. Wooden benches flanked the aisle to emulate tree barks, while the enchanting mandap of foliage-laden pillars and a halo canopy of flowers left everyone awe-struck. Crystal chandeliers and fog machines added a mystical feel to the occasion, completing the mesmerizing vision as the couple took their vows, while soulful flute music played in the backdrop.
Reception
The black-tie Reception followed the Wedding. It was a classy affair that saw heartfelt speeches, emotional toasts and tender moments of love. Dinner tables suspended from trees made for a quirky element, while warm cozy lights added a surreal feel to the evening. A photobooth shaped like intertwined pinky fingers added a funky touch for people to snap fun shots for their social media. Darshan’s favorite popcorn was given to the guests as a parting gift wrapped in brown recycled bags aptly labeled, “Thanks For Poppin’ By”.
