Evneet and Chanpreet, Thailand
This bride’s bright lemon-yellow lehenga emanated beachy vibes with a desi touch for her poolside mehndi.
Evneet and Chanpreet clicked from the first moment they met and realized how deeply they were in love with each other on a drizzly night as he quoted a line from her favorite book. Exquisitely hosted along the scenic shores of Phuket, Thailand, which is a popular destination amongst many couples for its natural beauty and hospitality, this duo’s wedding personified modern glamour with a touch of tradition. Capturing their fun-filled moments were WeddingSutra Favorite – Reels and Frames, who deftly used their expertise to capture each candid emotion in well-composed frames.
How They Met
Evneet shares, “Chanpreet and I first encountered each other at a mutual friend’s party and for us, it was love at first sight! And since then, we’ve been together. One night we were sitting together on a bench holding hands when I asked him what he thought of me, and he floored me with his response when he replied with a beautiful quote from my favorite book. At that point, I just knew he was ‘the one’!”
The Proposal
Evneet shares, “He proposed to me just a day before the wedding where he had decorated an entire room with candles and flowers. My instant answer was an emphatic ‘yes!”
Wedding Venue
Thailand was the couple’s unanimous choice of destination. With its superior familiarity of the Indian culture, this exotic country has always been a steady favorite amongst Indian couples who want to enjoy its breezy beaches and verdant nature while staying in the lap of luxury. Hosted at the JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa, their nuptials had prime views of the scenic shoreline. With its luxurious pools and multiple amenities, this property was the perfect pick for Evneet and Chanpreet to host their high-octane parties which included a long guest list.
Wedding Planning
On the photography front, Reels and Frames took charge and impressed the couple with their dedication and hard work. Evneet couldn’t be happier even as she gushes about their impressive repertoire, “The entire team was so cool to work with and they made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the lens. Not once did they give us the feeling that our wedding was just another job for them. Reels and Frames amazingly captured every detail of the wedding while highlighting the scenic beauty around. On the whole, they were just as invested in it as we were, and, I think their love for the craft can be seen in the pictures they clicked. Especially the candid shots which are the best. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. I can unhesitatingly say that working with them was a rewarding experience and would most definitely recommend them to others too!”
Expressing her happiness over her pleasurable stay in Thailand, Evneet shares, “I don’t think any other destination would have served as well as Thailand did. The warm hospitality that we received from this beautiful place was out of this world.”
Weddings Functions
Yacht Party
Starting off on a high note, the couple made the most of the azure blue waters at this exotic locale with a sunlit yacht party in the exuberant company of their friends. With champagne flowing freely, the entire atmosphere had a laid-back vibe to it as the couple and their guests lounged on comfy bean bags as they watched the waves crash alongside.
Keeping it light and breezy, Evneet chose a flirty co-ord set with a tasseled hem while Chanpreet went for a multicolored striped shirt.
Mehndi
The Mehndi was a poolside affair with distinctly buoyant vibes, that was filled with plenty of dance and music as everyone jumped into the pool to cool off. Welcomed by colorful smoke bombs and enthusiastic zeal, Evneet and Chanpreet made a dashing entrance and enjoyed being the center of attention. The decor with its vibrant canopies and colorful oriental umbrellas invited everyone to relax and enjoy themselves under the sun.
Glowing in a scintillating lime green lehenga, Evneet made a bold statement with her attire and kept jewelry to a minimum to balance things out. Chanpreet took a cue from his bride and donned a blazer and shorts set in the same hue.
Haldi
Held on the golden sands, the Haldi was a true beachside ceremony where the duo was playfully smeared by every guest. Twinning in white, the couple took a quick dip in the sea to wash out the Haldi and enjoy the sunset.
Engagement
An eclectic evening filled with glitz and flashing lights, Evneet and Chanpreet’s engagement also doubled up as a sangeet as everyone shook a leg on the colossal dancefloor right after. With colorful spotlights and an LED backdrop, the decor had a varied theme. And like every true Punjabi wedding, bhangra was the dance form of choice as people of all ages showed off their best moves.
Channeling her inner diva, Evneet wore a rich emerald green sleeveless gown that she paired with diamond jewelry. Chanpreet, on the other hand, looked dapper in his black bandhgala.
Anand Karaj
Surrounded by lush tropical palms and pristine blue waters, the duo’s Anand Karaj ceremony was a solemn and tranquil ceremony. The decor was kept to a minimum while both of them received blessings from the almighty. Right after the ceremony, the couple posed under a bright pink floral canopy that matched their attires.
Dressed in dusty rose-hued outfits, the bridesmaids looked completely in sync with the bride who picked a bright pink Sabyasachi lehenga for the occasion. Following his bride’s footsteps, the groom’s squad also coordinated their outfits to match that of the groom who wore a pale pink sherwani.
Reception
Bringing their gorgeous nuptials to an end, the reception followed a white and pastel color palette. With reflective silver arches and delicate crystal wall hangings surrounding them, the newlyweds radiated happiness as they cut a multi-tiered wedding cake and laughed at witty toasts together.
Looking ready to walk the red carpet in her glittering white sequin gown, Evneet smiled happily as she embraced her husband Chanpreet, who looked dashing in a white bandhgala paired with a burgundy turban.
