Gitika Agarwal and Anish Mayaramka, Radisson Blu Udaipur Palace Resort and Spa
Combining the best of romance and glamour, this couple’s open-air destination sundowner wedding took the cake with its serene pastel hues and bloom-filled mandap.
Gitika Agarwal and Anish Mayaramka’s destination wedding in Udaipur looked straight out of a Bollywood flick with its sleek design and cheery moments. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Ever After India the wedding was hiccup-free with the planning team’s foresight and creativity.
Gitika shares, “I’ve always wanted to have a palace wedding since the age of fifteen when I was first invited to a destination wedding hosted at a palace in Rajasthan! Now, 13 years later, I had an incredible wedding, which I never dreamed would be possible. Each of the six occasions was unusual and unique in its own way. The decor and theme itself went beyond my wildest imagination, helping to lend a vibrant air to the functions and festivities. Even with the scale being so grand, it felt like such a close-knit setting, and deeply family-oriented. The planning team outdid themselves as they ensured that each detail was looked into.
They also designed custom newsletters that looked like ‘page 3’ articles with pictures to keep everyone updated about the highlights of each event. This was such a unique element and a memento of sorts for everyone who attended the wedding. Seeing our ideas come to life and everyone happy, was the best feeling ever!
Everyone who came for the wedding were people we knew, so I didn’t feel surrounded by strangers, and it made everything that much more important. I’m so lucky I got to have my dreams brought to life for my special day.”
Giving the guests a traditional Rajasthani welcome, the first event in the lineup was the colorful welcome dinner on the rooftop where everyone danced to the beats of the dhol and then, enjoyed a delicious dinner.
For the Moroccan mehndi night, a lineup of performances took the stage by storm. And, dominating the dancefloor was the bride’s mom who surprised everyone with her groove! Adorned with earthy-hued pampas grass, teepees and furnishings, the decor looked right at home with the venue and was subtly elegant.
Mayra and Bhaat
The mayra and bhaat were all about the color! Basking under the morning sunlight, this event at Udai Chowk was a celebration dedicated to the bride and groom’s mothers. With unending dance and singing sessions, everyone had a fun time as they mingled freely, The pleasant November weather of Rajasthan was the cherry on top as the couple’s loved ones took hearty helpings of the lunch spread.
Decorated with suspended sequins and tones of black and blue, the Sangeet night under the stars at Raaj Mahal and poolside lawns transported the guests to a magical world that took a cue from Morrocan motifs. Following a ‘Bling Night’ theme, the event looked extremely glamorous. However, the highlight was the couple making an entrance by walking down the aisle with their family. Later, they also took the stage by storm leaving everyone awe-struck by their graceful dance moves.
Decked up in hues of yellow, the haldi was an all-yellow event accentuated by green foliage at Fatehsagar Ballroom. Massive flower pots were decorated by spheres of marigolds while gilded furnishings added a dash of metallic glam. Plus cane baskets overflowing with flower petals lent an earthiness to the decor.
For the Marwari wedding, romance and glamour were combined to create a sundowner event at the Fatehsagar Lawns that left a lasting impression. Gitika shares, “We wanted every event in the wedding to look photogenic and hence, we designed a complete lookbook for the guests to define the theme and the dress code. The big day was swathed in hues of pastel with the mandap decorated with off-white suspended florals while ivory canopies sheltered the seating area. And, to sum it all up, every day, a ‘Page 3’ style newsletter highlighted the day’s events!”
