Jamini and Ankit, Conrad Bali
Fashion-forward, glamorous yet adhering to traditions - this couple’s destination wedding in Bali was vibrant!
From a serendipitous meeting on a dating app to heartfelt moments by the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, Jamini and Ankit’s journey has been full of charm and joy. Their wedding was a testament to love, family, and the magic of meaningful details—captured exquisitely through the lens of WeddingSutra Favorite – Oragraphy.
How They Met
“In a city as bustling as San Francisco, fate brewed our story most unexpectedly,” shares the bride Jamini. “We first matched on a dating app with the most delicious name—Coffee Meets Bagel—clearly, breakfast-themed destiny was at work! Our early coffee dates were sweet, but things gradually fizzled out. Yet, the universe wasn’t quite done with us. We kept bumping into each other around the city—my office at Salesforce and Ankit’s at Amazon were practically neighbours. And somehow, we always ended up on the same train ride home. With every accidental encounter, our connection deepened, and what started as chance soon felt like fate.”
The Proposal
“With the Golden Gate Bridge standing tall behind us, bathed in sunshine, Ankit went down on one knee,” reminisces bride Jamini, her voice brimming with warmth. “It felt like we’d stepped straight into a rom-com. With the city sparkling around us and the bridge putting on a show, that moment was nothing short of magical. We even decided to make it official right then and there—legally tying the knot at the very spot where he proposed. Since San Francisco is where our love story began and blossomed, the city holds a special place in our hearts. So, when it came to my haldi lehenga, I chose to have the Golden Gate Bridge hand-painted on it—a love letter in thread and color to the place that brought us together.”
Wedding Planning
“Team Oragraphy captured my cousin’s wedding back in 2014, and even then, their passion for photography was unmistakable,” shares bride Jamini with heartfelt admiration. “Since that day, I’ve followed their journey through Instagram, watching their visual storytelling bloom into this breathtaking diary of light, love, and emotion. Their artistry has only grown richer with time. For my wedding, having Oragraphy behind the lens felt deeply personal and incredibly special. Their eye for detail, the way they used light and motion, all came together to create images that don’t just capture moments, but elevate them into timeless memories. I couldn’t have asked for a more soulful team of storytellers.”
Wedding Functions
Haldi
“Our Haldi was a joyful ode to the vibrant energy of Govinda—a true celebration of dance, color, and unfiltered fun,” shares Jamini with a laugh. “We drew inspiration from his iconic charm and effortless moves, creating a high-spirited, freestyle dance affair with everyone on their feet. From retro Bollywood beats to riotous splashes of yellow, the entire celebration was brimming with nostalgic fun and infectious laughter.
Sangeet
Jamini shares, “For my family, Garba and Raas are more than dance forms—they’re a way of life, so this celebration was non-negotiable! The venue came alive with vibrant rhythms, twirling lehengas, and the infectious beats of the dhol as everyone danced late into the night. To complement the cultural revelry, we curated a feast of flavors inspired by the street food of Bombay and the rich culinary heritage of Baroda.”
Wedding
Jamini recollects, “Our wedding ceremony was a vision of serenity and understated elegance. We chose a soothing palette of pastels, white, and turquoise that reflected the calm and joy we felt in our hearts that day. The décor was intentionally simple, allowing the beauty of the moment and the sacredness of the rituals to take centre stage.”
Reception
“Our reception was a glamorous affair we fondly called ‘FashionUP’, which was a celebration of style, sparkle, and high spirits,” shares Jamini with a smile. “We wanted our guests to embrace their most fashionable selves, and they truly delivered—every corner of the venue shimmered with couture, confidence, and charisma. From statement ensembles to bold accessories, it felt like a red-carpet evening infused with love and laughter.”
