Janvi Shah and Yazad Bhesania, Taj Aravali Resort & Spa, Udaipur

Daughter of Gujarati Lifestyle influencer Roopal shah and business tycoon Mitul shah tied the knot with her beau Yazad Bhesania. Hosted at the Taj Aravali Resort & Spa, Udaipur the festivities were plush and picturesque. WeddingSutra Favorite – Perfexion Events planned this fusion wedding, which merged Parsi and Gujarati aesthetics to create a stunning union.

Wedding Venue
For the lavish wedding, the couple chose Taj Aravali Resort & Spa in Udaipur where they had plenty of space to let their creativity unfurl. With its plethora of indoor and outdoor venues, this property offered a sweeping view of the hills. Its 176 rooms also ensured that the guests were indulged completely.

Wedding Planning
After the star-studded pre-wedding celebrations in Surat which featured performances by Janhvi Kapoor and Ananya Pandey, the celebrations in Udaipur were just as lavish. Ashish Bohra from Perfexion Events shares, “Regal and vibrant were the keywords used by the couple for their wedding celebrations in Udaipur. Both, Taj Aravali Resort and Spa and The LaLiT Laxmi Vilas Palace Udaipur were chosen as guest hotels. However, all the events were hosted at the Taj Aravali Resort and Spa. Since Janvi is Gujarati and Yazad is Parsi, we tried to balance both cultures while planning each event.”

Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
On day one the couple hosted a welcome dinner to break the ice and get everyone comfortable. Ashish shares, “Live music, candlelight and a canopy of fairylights adorned the ceiling. The golden glow from the lights gave the venue a comfy and elegant look.”

Mandap Muhurat and Haldi
Ashish shares, “Rather than staying conventional, we gave the mandap muhurat and haldi event a ‘Carnival’ theme. Pastels and pop chic decor were generously used. A live singer had everyone grooving while giveaway stalls kept the guests engaged. These stalls included gotta bangles, mirrors, patola clutches and live block printing. Color bombs punctuated the couple’s entry and later, a phoolon ki holi had everyone in high spirits.”

Mehendi
Ashish shares, “Instead of the usual sangeet, the duo chose to host a ‘Rajasthani mehndi night carnival’ a day before the wedding. Pops of bright colors and Rajasthani blue pottery dominated the decor color palette. There were giveaway stalls like Rajasthani print quilts and leheriya dupattas. Live music had everyone shaking a leg with the mehndi-laden palms held aloft. Post the mehndi, the guests geared up for an after-party.”

Wedding Brunch
A nod to Yazad’s Parsi roots, the wedding brunch flaunted a Parsi theme. Ashish shares, “Subtle pastel green hues were set off by vivid fuschia-hued blooms at this event. There were elements like a live lipstick-making stall, evil eye bracelets, Parsi textiles, watch charms, sunglasses and customised coconuts which guests enjoyed thoroughly. There was also an Audio Guest Book where guests could record their wishes for the couple.”

Wedding and Reception
Ashish shares, “Yazad arrived with his baraat atop a vintage car and a live band. The wedding had a mix of Hindu and Parsi rituals. There was varmala with pyros, a flower shower and various SFX. The waterfall within the property served as a serene backdrop. Keeping Parsi conventions in mind, there was no phera ceremony around the fire. Instead, the couple progressed to the mangalsutra and sindoor ceremony right after the varmala. The wedding was followed by a reception which was dreamy in every way. The couple made a stylish entry, cut a cake and grooved to a live band.”
