How We Met
Karan and Jyoti went to the same college but met only seven years later when they were introduced to each other through a common friend. This, however, was around the same time that Karan was pursuing his higher studies in Boston, US, while Jyoti was in Mumbai. As fate would have it, they ended up meeting each other every time Karan was in Mumbai. He realized his true feelings for her and one thing led to another. They decided to give their relationship a chance, and this decision changed their lives. Soon after, Karan took the next step and proposed to Jyoti.

Proposal
Those who know Jyoti are aware of her innate ability to sniff out secrets and surprises, therefore planning a proposal was not easy for Karan. But he still managed to floor her with his surprise proposal! He took her out for dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel in Mumbai, and once they had finished their meal, he asked a waiter to click a picture of the two of them. This act may have looked spontaneous, but it was pre-planned. As they posed for the camera, Jyoti’s brother entered the frame in the back holding a placard that read ‘Will you marry me?’ Karan knew Jyoti would check her phone to see if she liked the photograph, and as she did just that! When she looked up from the camera in surprise, she found her family members and friends gathered around her. She said “Yes” to Karan’s proposal as loved ones congratulated her.

Wedding Venue
Jyoti and Karan had always dreamed of a destination wedding, so they found Goa to be the ideal choice of a wedding location. They hosted their friends and family at the Holiday Inn Resort Goa, a place they had fallen in love with from the time they had first seen it. The food and ambiance were just perfect, and they loved the location for the pheras – the beautiful beach.

Wedding
With easy beach access from the hotel, the location for the pheras was a no-brainer. Karan and Jyoti wanted the azure skies and blue waters lapping the sandy beach to be the natural backdrops for this event. The setting sun added a soft glow to the environs as the outdoor pheras got underway, and the sound of the waves provided the perfect soundtrack to this auspicious occasion. Karan wore a white sherwani with a gold wedding turban, and Jyoti wore a blush pink lehenga with a gold sequined blouse.

Inspired by a traditional white wedding, Karan wore a classic black tuxedo while Jyoti donned a white and golden gown.
