Kamakshi Bandekar and Adam Ross, Holiday Inn Resort Goa
This couple’s wedding flaunted a soft pink-hued wedding mandap that looked right at home at the beachside venue!
Kamakshi Bandekar and New-York-based Adam Ross said ‘yes’ to forever with a stunning wedding on the shores of Goa. Planning their wedding was WeddingSutra Favourite – TailorMade Experiences who through their innovation and creativity orchestrated a union that will be fondly reminisced for years to come!
How They Met
Kamakshi met New York-based Adam in New York where they became fast friends. Their friendship soon turned into love as they understood each other over time through unfiltered conversations.
Zashank Bhatia and Shashank Gupta from TailorMade Experiences shares, “Our aim was to understand their vision and give them everything they wanted!
While giving importance to traditions, we also managed to create a successful marriage between traditional values and modern aesthetics – giving both worlds their due respect.
Being a Goan, Kamakshi, always wanted a beach wedding and the beauty of the venues they chose allowed them to create magic!
Despite being residents of New York, the couple was keen to have a wedding in Goa, with the aim of embracing elements from Kamakshi’s culture. However, since they could not be physically present for overseeing the preparations of the wedding, we took the initiative to understand every aspect of every function, in order to fulfil the bride and her family’s wishes. From finalising décor, choreographer, allocation of rooms in the hotel, and coordinating with the vendors we achieved everything within the given timelines.
Post the selection of the venues by the family, we took over and made the conversation seamless between the hotel and the family to make it a hassle-free experience in terms of check-ins, check-outs, room allocations and in-room hamper placements.
We understood the significance of each vendor and gave them the best options within Goa to review and close the best deal. In the end, every function was bespoke, complete with unique décor elements and themes to bring alive the rituals, making the event truly memorable.”
Zashank shares, “The couple started their wedding festivities with a vibrant mehendi luncheon. Simple and intimate, they danced and enjoyed themselves with their close family and friends. The décor was abundant with marigold and dark pink roses combined with antique wooden furniture, a stunning bridal seat, a wooden partition photo-op and ceramic props.”
Shashank shares, “Next in the line was the sangeet ceremony, for which the couple had selected an evening by the beach. The beauty of the location was enhanced with a lot of rice lights and a little touch of florals. The marble walkway was beautifully converted into a performance stage with stand lights and a flower bed. The sangeet had everyone twirl on the mix of Bollywood, Marathi and Goan tracks.”
Zashank shares, “The Haldi ceremony was an intimate one. A blend of different white and yellow flowers the décor looked absolutely delightful with cane and wood furniture.
Like any other Maharashtrian haldi, Kamakshi and Adam followed the tradition in a very particular way, and later were splashed with water.”
Shashank shares, “For the big day, the morning started with a baraat where the foreign guests gathered together to experience the true flavour of Indian weddings. This was then followed by an intimate phera ceremony. The mandap was decorated with pink drapes along with white and pink roses and carnations that were placed to give an ombre effect. Wedding booklets were kept on the seats, which guided the guests to understand all the rituals.”
Zashank recollects, “ For their last event, the couple chose a blush colour palette. The couple exchanged varmalas crafted out of lotus blooms. The chrome-plated aisle was embellished with blooms and they entered to the tinkling of brass bells that were being rung by their loved ones. The evening included cake cutting, speeches by the family and a soothing performance by tabla and flute artist. Gazebos ensured everyone got a comfortable place to relax while photo-op spots resulted in a frenzy of selfies.”
