The Gateway Resort Damdama Lake, which is also a part of the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, is the first-ever Gateway resort in India. Located just 45 km away from the international airport in Delhi, it offers the best of convenience, luxury and natural beauty. Keen on hosting all their festivities outdoors, this plush property with its 20-acre grounds was the perfect pick for Mitali and Aakash who wanted a destination wedding away from the hustle and bustle of the city but well within reach for all the guests to enjoy!
Swati Sabharwal from Big Bash Entertainment shares, “The groom was deeply involved in the overall planning process and the decor conceptualization. For hosts who don’t have a fixed idea in their minds, our process involves introducing them to a bevy of different options to suit their style and tastes. We did the same with Mitali and Aakash, and thankfully they trusted our judgment enough to hand over the reins to us.
We chose each theme and element keeping the organic beauty of the resort in mind. Regardless of the weather issues, our creativity prevailed as the theme of each event looked distinct. Aakash and Mitali are happy-go-lucky individuals and they placed a lot of trust and confidence in us to execute their wedding for them.”
With a monochrome dance floor and an LED-backed stage, the couple’s Sangeet was high on glam. Showing off their best moves in solo as well as group performances, the couple’s loved ones danced to their favorite tracks with everyone cheering them on!
Inspired by the colors of Morocco, the daytime Mehndi event featured bold silhouettes and floral arrangements that caught the eye instantly. Equipped with a vast stage where the bride got her palms patterned with henna, Mitali was truly the spotlight’s muse! Everyone was in awe of the setting which also comprised of tinted glass bottles, lamps and mirror work cushions that glimmered under the light.
Energetic and high-spirited, the Haldi event witnessed the couple at their playful best! A bright backdrop flanked the couple as they got slathered in haldi and a vivid entryway gave the guests a glimpse of what was in store for them. Exuding distinctly tropical vibes with colors like blue, hot pink and lemon yellow, this sunkissed Haldi was simply unforgettable!
Hosted at the resort’s outdoor amphitheater, the wedding looked regal with its circular mandap dotted with pink roses. With flower garlands suspended from the ceiling, foliage-covered pillars, and comfy seats for the guests, the wedding was totally in sync with the couple’s vision. Swati shares, “Despite the rains, the big day was a sunny one! We were so glad that everything fell into place for the wedding and went exactly as planned.”
Ending their celebrations on a high note, the couple’s reception was glitzy and enchanting. Adorned with a floral pink backdrop, cane lanterns, a suspended cake and a floral arch it packed a massive punch in the glamour department!
