Nada Alameddine and Utsav Akhoury, Fairmont Jaipur

This couple’s Indo-Lebanese wedding was a perfect fusion of two cultures with a souk-themed mehndi, a cosmic sangeet, a spice market-themed haldi and a rustic all-red wedding.

Nada Alameddine and Utsav Akhoury’s three-day wedding in Jaipur was a stunning extravaganza brimming with personalised elements. The wedding, hosted in November was designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – DreamzKrraft who fused the couple’s cultures while showcasing the bride’s artistic prowess.

Wedding Planning
Nada shares, “We’ve always wanted a palatial destination wedding and the planning team was at their creative best as they orchestrated the wedding for us. It was seamless. We did not have one delay or one problem at the wedding and everyone was extremely happy and enjoying themselves. It was just perfect and as the bride and groom, we saw everything we planned come to life in the best way possible. Team DreamzKrraft made our dreams come true!”

Priti Sidhwani from DreamzKrraft shares, “This wedding was an Indo-Lebanese one and we were mindful of including elements from both countries in it. Plus, Nada is a remarkable artist and the events also included some of her artworks.”

Wedding Functions
Haldi
Priti shares, “The haldi celebration was the first one in line and we wanted to make a strong cultural impact. Themed ‘turmeric and zataar’ – the haldi was all about spices! We had spices from both countries displayed throughout the venue. We even had a mural of bowls with different spices that the bride designed.”

Welcome Dinner
Priti shares, “This event was all about Arabic and Hindi typography and bringing the two cultures together. Named ‘namaste and marhaba’, the welcome dinner had beautiful calligraphy in the decor and a large painting made by the bride with words saying welcome in both languages.”

Mehendi
Both Indians and Lebanese love a good bazaar! The mehndi themed around a ‘Souk Bazaar’ was, needless to say, a hit amongst the guests! Priti shares, “ Mehndi was all about handicrafts from both cultures and the setup was made into a Lebanese-Indian bazaar. A lot of traditional prints from both countries were hanging from the ceilings of this very colorful event.”

Sangeet
The sangeet was an ode to the groom’s passion for all things celestial as a former NASA employee. Priti shares, “Since Utsav has a fondness for everything related to the space, we themed a ‘Cosmic Rhythms’ sangeet. On her part, Nada made these beautiful paintings of brides and grooms in space that were all displayed in the venue.”

Wedding and Reception
Priti shares, “The wedding was about the color ‘red’. The couple wanted it to be traditional and rustic which is why blooms, like, pampas grass, rajnigandha and gypsos were included in the decor. Plus, an open-air wedding mandap with wooden arches was also constructed which looked right at home within the venue. The bride painted a large mural of her and the groom with the maps of the two countries coming together

After the wedding, the couple moved on to the glamorous reception where they danced the night away and witnessed a stunning display of Disney-themed fireworks.”
