Neha and Arjun, Mexico
A customized dance floor with the couple's initials was one of the highlights of this magical Mexico wedding.
The beautiful beaches of Mexico came alive with the beats and bonhomie of a traditional Punjabi wedding when Neha and Arjun tied the knot in a charming outdoor day ceremony there. Here, they share some highlights of the festivities.
How They Met
Neha shares, “Arjun and I first crossed paths in 2013 when we were pursuing the third year of medical school in Brooklyn, New York. And ever since then, we haven’t looked back.”
Neha recalled, “Luckily both of us went on to do residency together, and in our last year, Arjun planned a trip to Greece where our last stop was the beautiful island of Santorini. Over there, we enjoyed a romantic evening and after dinner, he popped the question! After an instant ‘Yes!’ from my end, he also informed me that he had a surprise photoshoot planned for me the next morning and had, thoughtfully, also packed a beautiful dress for me to wear.”
Acknowledging the colossal task of planning a destination wedding, the duo hired seasoned vendors who they felt they could trust. On the photography front, they chose iNavphoto who gave the couple beautiful memories that they could treasure for a lifetime. Adding to the team were event coordinators Blue Petal Destination Weddings, decorator Canteiro Weddings, videographer Ismael Gonzalez, invitation designers Mascotte Designs, makeup artists Pristine Allure Studio and Lash Out Studio.
Hosted under the gazebo on the beach, the maiyan was a cheerful function where the bride was surrounded by her girl squad.
Amping up the glamor stakes, the sangeet was a glitzy occasion hosted at the open beach club with indoor seating that connected to the outdoor dance floor on the soft sands. Everyone had a gala time dancing till the wee hours of the night.
The bride shares, “We had a beautiful and comfortable seating area for the mehndi where the henna artists were easily able to attend to our guests. It was a very cheerful and entertaining event where water drummers performed their acts which left all our guests in awe.”
Exuding dreamy vibes, the daytime wedding was akin to a fairytale by the beachside. Set up under the glaring Mexican sun, the square all-white mandap was adorned with delicate white blooms and was supported by transparent pillars that gave one a full-fledged view of the idyllic shoreline.
Neha shares, “Our reception was hosted in an indoor ballroom and the decor followed a cream and white color palette. Adorned with wisteria blooms in the same hue, our customized dance floor also had our initials, and that’s where we performed our first dance as husband and wife.”
