How They Met
Neha and Samarth first met in Scotland where they had enrolled in a four-year-long course. The duo eventually went on to become best friends but started dating just two days before their graduation. A long-distance relationship ensued where they kept their love alive despite living in different continents.

Wedding Planning
Giving us an overview of the brief shared by the couple Namita Jain from Mogra by Namita shares, “Their brief was to keep everything simple. They wanted it to be hyper-localized and have as many Rajasthani elements as possible. Also, on a more emotional note, Samarth lost his father a few years ago who was an ardent admirer of antique props and classic Indian flowers. Keeping this in mind, they asked us to include blooms like mogras and rajanigandhas in the decor which would remind them of his father.” Even though Rajasthan is a hotspot for Indian weddings, the terrain brings along its own share of challenges. Namita shares, “Mundota Fort and Palace is extremely windy, and while constructing the wedding decor we, being the planners and decorators, had to be twice as sure that everything was perfectly secure. We were keen that the guests enjoy the sheesha lounge, the heavy wind notwithstanding. Luckily, everything turned out perfectly. Additionally, as planners of the wedding we were also responsible for the performing artists. In this aspect too, the couple favored local talent to support the state’s economy. Getting the guest logistics right was also a challenge as people were flying in from different destinations during the pandemic. Fortunately, it was a COVID-free wedding and everyone had a great time from the start to finish.”

Weddings Functions
Haldi
Namita shares, “For the Haldi decor we included succulents, cacti and earthen pots in the decor to reflect the spirit of Rajasthan. The flowers were local and seasonal. We did not fly in any flowers from abroad as the couple was keen on leaving a minimal carbon footprint.”

Wedding
Namita shares, “For the Wedding we used a number of antique brass elements which was in tune with what the groom’s late father liked. Of course, as per the couple’s request rajanigandhas and mogras were also a part of the evening event that had the venue’s majestic architecture as its backdrop.”

After Party
“Both the families wanted this event to exude a regal vibe. They drew inspiration from the Prince of Jaipur’s birthday party decor but at the same time wanted it to be in sync with the heritage surroundings. Mashaals were dotted around the venue, and lights were used generously to create a luxurious ambience. It wasn’t a typical Bollywood after-party. On the contrary, the music was modern with house music playing all evening which gave the event a youthful vibe”, shares Namita.

Goodbye Brunch
After the revelries of the night, the guests were treated to a sunny all-white Goodbye Brunch. Namita shares, “The event displayed white wedding vibes, and to accentuate pristine white hues, we used earthy dry grass elements like pampas, wheat and bajra. Adding a dash of color were bougainvillea blooms. Since everyone had partied till the wee hours of the morning the night before, we included detox drinks and customized coconut water on the menu to refresh them. Additionally, there were also dance performances that left everyone full of smiles!”
