Curated with personalized elements and focussing on minimalistic aesthetics, Nikita Dubey, a wedding planner and co-founder of WeddingSutra Favorite – ShubhTithi Weddings and Events tied the knot with her beau Laksh Bahukhandi in a series of beautiful events. Capturing the couple as they shared spontaneous moments of love was WeddingSutra Favorite – Beats In The Moment.
Wedding Planning
As a bride and a wedding planner who planned her own wedding with her very own planning team, Nikita’s journey was a unique one as she carefully curated every detail of the wedding. She shares, “We have always enjoyed the smaller things in our journey as a couple. We wanted to keep everything very minimalistic but warm. We wanted to showcase our journey as a couple and share the love with our family. There were various boards, decor elements and creatives highlighting the different stages of our relationship. Since the day I stepped into the industry, I have always wanted to have a palace wedding. Hence, Jodhpur was the perfect place to make this milestone a perfect celebration!”
Reflecting on her experience as a bride who spearheaded the planning of her own wedding and how the process drew them closer, Nikita shares, “As a couple, we are extremely happy to have thoroughly enjoyed our wedding. We had spaced out our four functions in three days. It was relaxing not just for us but for our guests too. We made sure to take some time out for ourselves before the functions started.
The cutest thing was, I received love letters before the start of every event! He sent them to me with a red rose via our shadows. It is and always will be the most special thing.”
Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner and Mehndi
Nikita shares, “It was a traditional Rajasthani affair with folk dancers, musicians and various quirky food stalls. The drinks were color customized to maintain the flow of the theme. Mehendi was very special to me since the day we began planning, from my special dance for my family to every guest being involved and entertained, I wanted it all!”
Cocktail and Sangeet
Nikita shares, “This event was filled with energy thanks to multiple surprise performances, happy tears and laughter! Several live performances followed this. We also had a live photo booth and, of course, ring the bell for champagne!”
Haldi
Rather than go for the usual phoolon ki holi haldi, the couple unleashed their playful side and actually played holi! Nikita shares, “It was a water carnival along with water-based games. From pichkaris to water balloons, from elderly to youngsters, nothing and no one was spared!”
Wedding
Nikita shares, “The baraat had customized alcohol bottles which had ‘Laksh Di Baraat’ written on them. At the Baraat entry, we had a ribbon that read- ‘No money, No honey’. My Sisters and friends also had their UPI scanners at the ready!
For my entry, I wanted it to be super minimalistic, just like our relationship! The varmala pathway aisle consisted of 1306 roses, the same number of days we have known and loved each other. And, the varmala took place in front of the palace with our loved ones around us.
Since the wedding was the last event, we wanted everyone to be super relaxed before they started their journey back home, so we set up foot massage stations. We also had a live acoustic band entertaining the crowd as we took the pheras. The pheras were very lively with Panditji being quirky and funny. It was a combination of emotional but happy moments.”
