Parul and Pranav – Bali, Indonesia
Parul and Pranav first met at a fire drill and sparks flew! After that ironic beginning, they tell us all about their gorgeous beach wedding at the Ayana Resort, Bali.
Pranav grew up in boarding school, at Doon, Dehradun and recently moved from JP Morgan to BNP Paribas, Singapore. I’m an investment banker at BNP Paribas, Singapore and was working at the same back in Hong Kong previously.
We met at work, during a fire drill and started dating immediately! We knew almost instantly that we were made for each other. Pranav has two tattoos – the date of my birth and our wedding hashtag, #praRUL. He got the first tattoo in Brazil and it was a huge surprise for me. I think that was the moment I fell madly in love with him!
We moved in together quite early on in the relationship and that made us even more confident of how perfect we were for each other.
We always wanted a destination beach wedding! It was love at first sight when we saw Ayana Resort and Spa, Bali. We’re both well travelled this is one of the best properties we’ve seen in our lives and it was just a bonus that it was in a romantic, beautiful island like Bali.
It was a three day affair, which kicked off with a Balinese themed welcome dinner and engagement.
The next day, we had a mehndi pool party themed colorful. A lot of fun games like tug of war in the pool, beer pong and shishas were organized during the event, in a sea facing premier Ayana villa in the property. In the evening, we had a Buddha-bar themed cocktail party in the Rimba Ballroom.
This was followed by haldi & pool party on the next day themed Hawaiian. We had sunset pheras in the venue –SKY in Ayana resort followed by the reception where there were speeches by close friends and family! The same day edit of the 3 days was also shown during the reception which was a huge hit.
At the welcome-dinner/engagement I wore a gold Rimple and Harpreet Narula ramp piece, while Pranav wore a blue bandhgala suit by Raghavendra Rathore. On the mehndi, I wore a Sonaakshi Raaj outfit and my husband wore Raghavendra Rathore again. I chose a Gaurav Gupta gown for the cocktail and Pranav complemented me with a Giorgio Armani tuxedo. At the wedding, I wanted to look elegant but not very traditional. We were both wearing Sabyasachi and my make-up artist helped me look like a modern Sabya bride, a look I’d always dreamt of!
The entire trousseau was bought between Delhi and Mumbai. I wore an Azva gold set for the welcome dinner, traditional polki jewellery at the wedding and long diamond earrings to the cocktail party.
