Prerna and Shaun, Al Habtoor Palace, Dubai
One wedding, six events and infinite #weddinggoals, this remarkable wedding was one to remember.
Prerna and Shaun cemented their bond with a spectacularly grand wedding, brought to life by a talented team of WeddingSutra Favorites. The extravagant festivities were held in Al Habtoor Palace, Dubai. All of the celebrations were planned to perfection by Vivaah Weddings, while the themed decor & Entertainment Conceptualization for each function was executed by Fête Events. Special moments were immortalized in frames and film by House On The Clouds.
After doing a lot of research, Prerna and Shaun chose to host their wedding at the Al Habtoor Palace because of its beauty, elegance and proximity to Dubai’s downtown attractions. A luxurious hotel located on the banks of the Dubai Water Canal, Al Habtoor Palace is Dubai’s first-ever integrated urban resort. At an enviable location, the hotel is just a 20-minute drive from Dubai International Airport, making it the perfect choice for an opulent wedding.
Prerna and Shaun’s vision for their wedding functions were transformed into reality by Fête Events, while elite wedding planners Vivaah Weddings helped plan this larger-than-life occasion. House on the Clouds, with their talented team of ace photographers, captured all the fun and festivities. Entertainment by La Cle Entertainment, Shah Rule Entertainment and Drumline kept the party going strong.
The festivities kicked off with an Arabesque Haveli themed engagement dinner hosted at the Firefly Lounge of the hotel. The colorful and cozy decor lent the event a Moroccan charm. There were spectacular lanterns, velvet upholstery and mirrors all over. The photobooth near the entrance resembled an Arabian living room, with metal vases, glass lanterns, jute seating, carpets, hand-painted plates, decanters and fruits. Guests came in dressed in sultry desert couture, and there were dates, dry fruits and Morrocan tea and coffee for them to enjoy. The LED Tanoura dancers added glitz, glamour and a lot of oomph with their exceptional performances.
The theme was ‘Interstellar’ at the youngster’s after party held in the Amazing Room. This event incorporated quirky, robotic elements, silver streamers, mirrored structures and massive disco balls all across the venue. The space-travel inspired function looked out of this world (literally!), with mini astronauts in space suits as centrepieces and planets, constellation gobos forming the backdrop and guests embracing the futuristic theme through their ensembles. A convoy of mirror men doing incredible acts with space-themed LED lights kept the guests intrigued.
The mehndi function took the guests on an underwater adventure with an ‘Under The Sea’ theme that was held at the V Deck. The venue came alive with iridescent and pastel colors in blue, pink, green, yellow and purple. Guests too resonated with the theme in fancy-dress outfits. The bridal seating was a custom-made shell with mermaid scale printed cushions on top of a plunge pool with beautiful floral backdrop, seaweed, faux coral and dried gypsophila. The themed photo booth had gigantic sea coral and mermaids and the tables were decked in sequined, holographic table cloths, wild floral arrangements, pastel napkins, seahorse ornaments and silver-rimmed charger plates.
A profusion of blue and purple hues, the Al Joud Ballroom was transformed into a ‘Magic Heart Hotel’. There were vintage trunks and stereos, globes, telephones, old TV sets, crystal candle holders, colorful flowers and old books that were incorporated as decor elements on the dinner table. Concierge trolleys were used around the entrance area and a 3D heart formed the stage backdrop. The highlight of the event was the customised 6m high Concierge Bar with tiny key-holder slots that replicated a classic hotel’s concierge desk where guests gathered to taste the carefully selected cocktails. The guests adorned over the top traditional couture for the extravagant festivities.
The royal wedding was organized at the grand Palace Ballroom, tastefully decorated in pastel flowers, glistening chandeliers and crystal shamadans with white and champagne drapes forming the backdrop. The highlight of the decor was the metallic and glass structures with colorful bouquets that resembled enchanted plants, and the words from the Shakespearean tale Hamlet printed on them: Doubt thou the stars are fire. Doubt that the sun doth move. Doubt truth to be a liar. But never doubt I love.
The ultra-glam black-tie reception had a ‘Modern Rose’ theme. It was the perfect way to end the grand nuptials. The Al Joud Ballroom was decked up in whimsical and romantic decor in red and black with crystal elements. The photobooth at the entrance had green and red florals with neon signage that read ‘Till Death Do Us Party’. At the bar counter, the mighty red and silver mirrored backdrop made a bold statement. The area was decorated with tall candelabras, clear vases with red roses, silver cage structures and suspended crystal chandeliers.
