Priyanka lived in Singapore before her marriage to Chicago based Banker Pavit. Priyanka was born in Assam and raised in Hongkong, Vancouver and Singapore, Pavit was born and raised in Bangalore. They met in Mumbai a year ago through his aunty who is Priyanka’s mothers best friend. The formal engagement was held in September last year and the wedding in Bali this year.

Destination Wedding

The wedding was held at the Westin Nusa Dua, Bali. The functions were held both outdoors and indoors at the Westin property. Says Priyanka: “The Sangeet and the Reception was at the Hotel Ballroom, and the Mehndi and the Wedding were held outdoors- the Mehndi was on the lawns, and the Wedding at the temple gardens.”

Says Priyanka: “We hired a wedding planner from Bali since we needed some extra help. It’s always more organized and easier with a Planner, especially in the case of a Destination Wedding. We considered Thailand and Malaysia too but at the properties we liked, hotel rooms were not available, so we finalised on The Westin, Bali.”

Singapore to Bali

The toughest challenge, according to Priyanka about planning a wedding in Bali was that they had to make multiple trips from Singapore. “Different trips to oversee decor and food tasting, but I’m glad we chose The Westin, because everyone loved the resort and morover, it was fun putting everything together”.

Wedding Wear

For all the different celebrations, Priyanka looked fashionably elegant in designer ensembles. A lime green creation by Jaipur’s famous designer Nidhi Tholia for the Mehndi, a Sabyasachi lehenga for the Wedding, a gown by Ted Baker for the Cocktail and an Anamika Khanna saree for the Reception. Her Make-up for all the functions was done by Mumbai’s ace Makeup maestro Ojas Rajani.

Bride’s Recommendations

1. If you’re having a destination wedding in Bali, get a wedding planner and start with any preparations as early as you can. Our Wedding Planners M & M Concept from Bali were excellent at their work.

2. A good hair and make up stylist leaves you reassured and stress free knowing you’ll be dressed and taken care of. Make sure you spend time picking one. I was lucky that Ojas Rajani was free on my wedding dates, she is amazing at her work and full of positive energy.

3. DJ Harvy from Singapore made sure everyone had a great time on the dance floor. I also highly recommend MC Shobhana from Dubai
