Shina Singh and Kal Sahota, Alberta
From a serene Anand Karaj to a glamorous reception featuring dark hues, this couple enjoyed the best of both worlds at their destination wedding.
Shina Singh and Kal Sahota’s wedding was an elegant, traditional affair enriched with a rich Punjabi flavor. WeddingSutra Favorite – Harpreet Panesar Photography used their expertise to photograph adorable, romantic and cheerful moments between the much in love newlyweds!
How They Met
Shina and Kal were first introduced by their mutual friends in high school but it was only after completing their university that the two decided to take their friendship to the next level!
Proposal
After a decade of dating, Kal decided to pop the question to an unassuming Shina on her birthday. Notably, since Shina had zero clue about Kal’s plans, she arrived late to her own proposal! Due to her tardiness, Kal had to quickly come up with a backup plan, a skill that was honed during their pandemic wedding too.
Wedding Planning
Just like any other newlywed couple, the tradition of preserving the memories of their big day was equally important for Shina and Kal. To ensure that each moment was perfectly encapsulated in beautiful frames, they roped in Harpreet Panesar Photography who won them over with their creativity. The bride shares, “They were so amazing to work with! Team Harpreet Panesar Photography were full of excellent ideas and executed them seamlessly! Their communication too, was always impeccable. They are true visionaries in their field and we would love to collaborate with them again!”

Anand Karaj
The couple’s Anand Karaj hosted in the Gurudwara was a simplistic affair whereby the duo tied the knot in the presence of their closest loved ones. However, the couple went on to celebrate their union under the open skies surrounded by tall trees. Dressed in a sparsely embellished bright red Sabyasachi lehenga, Shina exuded regal vibes as she posed with her girl squad who contrasted her in shades of white. Kal, on the other hand, chose a rich emerald green hue for his sherwani which was accentuated with gold embellishments. Elements like pampas grass, muddas and pastel-toned blooms enhanced the rich tones of the couple’s outfits as they posed together.
Reception
Following the serene wedding, the couple moved on to celebrate their union with an elegant reception party where Shina and Kal performed a graceful waltz as their first dance. Peppered with scarlet blooms, pampas grass and punctuated by heartfelt toasts, the reception amplified the glamor stakes with its rich color palette.
