Shivani and Karan, Jaipur
From local weaves to historic monuments, vivid themes inspired this stunning wedding at The Leela Palace Jaipur.
A splendid amalgamation of royal splendor and distinctive themes, Shivani Wagh and Karan Singh’s dream wedding nestled in the beautiful property of The Leela Palace Jaipur were painstakingly planned and executed to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – The A Cube Project. Read on to see how it all unfolded.
The couple chose the stunning palatial property of The Leela Palace Jaipur for their dream wedding. The pristine white and blue architecture of the hotel and the rugged mountain vistas beyond was an idyllic setting for a picture-perfect wedding.
The couple’s vision for their festivities was imbued with their unique personalities and tastes, and to bring it to life they roped in the acclaimed team of The A Cube Project. Talking about their experience, they share, “Words fall short to express what we felt about the decor, it was so dreamy and absolutely breathtaking. From their unique themes and intricate designs to their dedicated attention to detail and our tastes, every event was just so beautiful and meticulously designed. Ambika and her team are absolute rockstars. In spite of so many last-minute hurdles, they pulled it off and executed our perfect wedding. Choosing The A Cube Project was the best decision we took”
They also signed on The Wedding Salad and WhatKnot to capture their moments in stunning shots and videos respectively.
The festivities kicked off with a vibrant poolside Mehndi function called ‘Kantha Amor’! Inspired by the idyllic beauty of Capri, one of the couple’s favorite holiday destinations, the brunch function blended the colorful influences of the Italian countryside with the intricate detailing of Kantha stitching sourced from local bazaars. Vivid pink bougainvillea flowers and exotic purple blooms were interspersed with pops of yellow, handwoven and embroidered drapes, cushions, stools and more that painted a colorful picture against the pristine white architecture of the hotel and rugged mountain backdrop.
The regal facade of the hotel was the perfect setting for the ‘Ishq Sufiyana’ themed Sangeet night which drew its decor inspiration from the majesty of Hawa Mahal and crafts and the aura of the Middle East. Carpets, rugs, accent cushions and throws gave a touch of contemporary styling to the off-white, silver and blue backdrop of the property. Satisfying the couple’s penchant for all things luxe, candles, hinging lamps, and fairy lights that cast a soft, ethereal glow over the entire evening, while cream drapes gently billowing in the breeze completed the setting for the intimate soiree.
Aptly named ‘Jaipur Galli’, the traditional Haldi function was designed with a contemporary twist, inspired by Shivani’s love for the local flavors of Jaipur. Soft, printed linens and mismatched colors were used to create a bohemian lounge seating along with hand-painted trunks, brass vases and elements with bright flowers and earthy props.
Seeking inspiration from the majestic beauty of the Char Bagh gardens, Shivani & Karan’s wedding was innately royal with a touch of old-world charm. The sprawling hotel lawns were divided into four segments with different kinds of lounge seatings for the guests. Plush crimson drapes juxtaposed with traditional Indian flowers to create a rich ambience elevated with vintage brass and silver paraphernalia, candles, flowers and more. A play of lights with a mix of diya jaalis, fairy lights and chandeliers added an ethereal glow, the flower-festooned mandap towered high against the stunning palatial backdrop of the hotel.
